Cant speak for the performance yet - Ill update that later. For now I just wanted to easy any concerns users of the Baofeng BF-F8HP: these do fit, though they are VERY tight. Im perfectly fine with a tight fit over a loose fit. You have to push the pack in very hard to get it to click, and it may take several tries to get used to it. Getting them off is slightly more difficult, but again, if it means a real good tight fit I dont mind so much. I do highly recommend removing the antenna before taking it off, as its too easy to want to pull on the antenna for leverage, and thats a very bad idea. No modification necessary for the Baofeng BF-F8HP on either of the two I own. The fit is VERY tight, but thats a good thing.

The battery fit my BaoFeng GMRS radio as expected.

At this price, a responsible radio user should have a few charged spares available for each of their radios, for any contingency/operation/emergency.

Not much to say about this. Its a perfect fit for my F8HP. It means I have a way to get power to the radio even if the power is gone. Im not planning to use this instead of the regular battery, but in addition to it for any sort of emergency (or while traveling with the radio so I dont have to carry the charger too, Im lazy). Im quite pleased with the fit and the ease of replacing the batteries. This is a great addition to a great radio. ADDITION: I also got the car charger recently. It works really well. Fits precisely and generates exactly the right power. It does feel a little cheap and fragile. That makes me worry about it banging around in the car. Overall, Im quite pleased. I added this to the review because Amazon thinks these are the same product.

The battery is big enough for the hand. And last longer

The originally battery might last a day on the trails, but if I was out there for more than that, I had no way to charge up the battery. This battery has gotten me through a whole weekend, AND with the usb charging cable, I can charge while Im on the trial if I need to! No more worrying about the radio anymore!

BTech/Baofeng are one of the few Chinese manufacturers that I can trust, and that’s saying a lot. This product is great. LiPo battery exactly as described, with 0 cycles. Everything matching 1:1 with product specs, no bait and switch which can be common with custom battery adapters. Crazy how long this battery lasts compared to the stock Baofeng 7.4V 1800mAh. I’ve had it idling for three days now and I still have 3/3 battery bars. Low SWR + this battery = will it ever run out??? Quality is excellent, I abuse the bajeezus out of my radio kit so if anyone can break it, it’ll be me, and if I do – I’ll update this review with. So far, it feels extremely sturdy. Another user mentioned that it’s easy for the battery pins to short out. I also noticed that but realized it’s the same on Baofeng’s stock batteries too, so would be unfair to critique this product in particular over Baofeng’s entire design ideology.

I like this battery for two reasons: First, it increases the overall length of the UV-5R, thus making the radio feel a bit more substantial and offering a better feel in the hand. The 5R is quite tiny, after all, and this battery pack offers a superior grip for an adult male with big paws. Secondly, I like that it offers a second option for charging; in addition to the standard charging cradle connectors this unit also offers direct USB charging with a dedicated cable, meaning it can be charged from the USB power in a car (where it would be downright clumsy to try and use the charging cradle) or from a cell phone charger while traveling. I end up using a standard iPhone charger without having to bring along the normal cradle.

I had to grind it down a bit so the batteries would seat correctly. Otherwise it wouldnt power up.

BaoFeng BF-F8HP, BF-F8+ and UV-5R Series Battery Eliminator with DC Adapter.

This is the genuine eliminator with the full heavy duty cable and correct voltage transformer. Counterfeit eliminators send direct voltage which may damage your radio and will not let it function properly. Including: circuit damage and not allowing the radio to transmit while under high power, unregulated voltage

This is the battery eliminator for the BaoFeng BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R series radios. To use the eliminator simply clip it to the back of the radio in place of the battery, then plug the cable into a cigarette lighter or accessory socket (12V only).

This allows your radio to run off the vehicle or selected 12V source. The eliminator supplies power to the radio directly from car.
