I love the added length this gives the radio, makes it holdable for people with big hands! The added battery life is a bonus too. It will charge in the standard table top docks but be aware if you want to use the built in charging port on the battery, you will need the smaller 2.5mm plug, it does not use the same power connector as the desk top charger.

Only extended battery for the small baofeng radio, so it is worth buying if you want longer battery life. This looks, fits, and performs perfectly on my little radio. Lasts a good long time too, but i have not timed it. If you want more radio time, you need this battery

After reading a lot of reviews we decided to go with this one it seems this one doesnt get quite as hot as a lot of the other ones on the market but we dont know yet so hopefully this will work for us We did buy an adapter on Amazon that would plug into the wall which had a problem causing us to mistakenly not know if the battery illuminators were working correctly , We solved that were buying another adapter Works with baofeng 2015 model radio sold here on Amazon 1. Weve used it for several hours on standby and so far it has no heat whatsoever is cold to the touch We will try listening to a weather station and update you later ? 2. We have transmitted with it very little so far doesnt get hot at all Cold to the touch . If anything changes will update

I Use the equipment for my radios (uv-5x3 , Bf-f8hp & ft-60) as of right now I have trying for three days to get support from Chirp. Support is needed to make the cable of use. A 2 on value, money and life. The cables work on an old computer so they are OK. I need support from Chirp.

Works well, you need to pre-bend the contacts down slightly to keep from crushing them when inserting the batteries. Otherwise it works well.

Bought a cheaper TENQ one and had to return it. It did not provide enough power on transmit and the radio would turn off and back on when key was released.(7.4V or so idle) This is the one by Baofeng and is designed differently. The pcb is in the DC jack portion not the battery adapter portion. It provides 8.5V which is clearly what the radio needs. The batteries and this unit state 7.4V but they all put out about 8.5V. I will be replacing the coiled cord which I really dislike and putting in a long straight cord. I have included a collage of a tear down of this unit which will hopefully be of some use. UPDATE: 2/19/15 The radio began rebooting on tx on 2m. There was a rattling sound from the plug. I opened it to find a large diode loose. It was either very cold solder joints or the part got hot enough to desolder itself from the pcb. I was able to fix it easily but def not worth the orig 4 star review I gave it. If I can find a way to add or update the pics I will add photo of the issue.

This did not work initially. There is not info on which position should contain the dummy battery. I guessed it did not matter and that was true. One of the contact points for the battery was bent out of position, so the unit did not work. When I figured it out and bent it back, everything worked. It appears to be made of cheap plastic. Not sure how long it will hold up.

The description is incorrect when stating the port on the side is a 2.5 barrel plug. I purchased a USB-C to 2.5 barrel plug adapter as the BTECH mentioned to purchase gets so hot that it melts the plastic housing around and the motherboard. So when finding an alternative the stated 2.5 was too large. Though when I purchased a USB-C to 1.7 barrel plug it fit, but did not charge the battery which confused me further. I have on solution, but thought this info was important.

How to buy separate charging cord to charge it. Do not know if it works since it does not sit properly into my radio

BaoFeng BF-F8HP, BF-F8+ and UV-5R Series Battery Eliminator with DC Adapter.

This is the genuine eliminator with the full heavy duty cable and correct voltage transformer. Counterfeit eliminators send direct voltage which may damage your radio and will not let it function properly. Including: circuit damage and not allowing the radio to transmit while under high power, unregulated voltage

This is the battery eliminator for the BaoFeng BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R series radios. To use the eliminator simply clip it to the back of the radio in place of the battery, then plug the cable into a cigarette lighter or accessory socket (12V only).

This allows your radio to run off the vehicle or selected 12V source. The eliminator supplies power to the radio directly from car.

Technical Specs:
Over Current Protection Input : DC 12-24V
Output MAX :7.8V 3A
