I have used this a lot this week and really like that it is so light and that the heat does not penetrate through to the underside. It suggests not using steam which is the only downside, but you can use Best Press with no problems. The board I was using before was heavy, but very study. I had to quit using it as I was having trouble lifting it. This is so much better. I recommend it. I only wish I had bought a larger size, but this will work just fine.

I wanted to love this wool pressing mat. It worked great for getting nice crisp fabric, and no noticeable odor from the mat. However, the mat sheds terribly all over the fabric, and it was almost like it imbedded into the material because no amount of using a fabric roller would remove the little wool fibers. After I had to redo my last sewing project due to all of the visible wool fibers stuck in the fabric I stopped using this mat. Now looking for something that truly wont shed.

I could hardly wait to try out my 100% New Zealand Wool Pressing Mat. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! My 1/2 square triangle units pressed so flat and crisp that I did not need to use my tailors clap, as I usually do to get a good, flat seam on my quilt blocks. The small unit did not move on the pressing mat, and I got a very flat press on the diagonal seam. I was using a little steam, but found that I get just as good a press without steam. There is a slight odor, not uncommon for wet wool, that seems to diminish with use. Thank you for this product. I am beyond pleased.

It’s a great pressing mat and does everything it’s supposed to, but it STINKS! Every time I use it, I have to open up all the windows and doors (and the smell still lingers in my room). It smells like a barn every time I use it, and the smell is as strong as ever even after 2 months of continuous use. Note: I’ve been ironing dry because I read that steam makes it smell even worse.

I like this pad quite a lot. The only downside is I initially purchased it when the description stated it was fine to use with steam. Unfortunately it has distorted the evenness of the pad. I would give it 3 stars due to it being misleading, but because it’s no longer stated that way, I’m giving it 4 stars, as it’s overall a fantastic pad.

Ive seen my friends using wool mats and raving about them, so I decided to give it a try. Im super impressed! Ive had some stubborn wrinkles in my quilt squares and when I tried them on this mat (and with a shot of Best Press) they came OUT! I was going to buy a new iron (Rowenta). Nope, dont need a new iron with this mat. It does stink a little, but, eh, so does my husband, and I keep him around.

I’ m sure that this product will work great, seems to be nice quality. I can’t give it 5 stars because the first one I ordered ( 17” x 24” ) was not the right size. The label/sheet showed that size but it was actually a square with measurements of 17” x 17”. I could clearly see where someone must have put a note on it saying it wasn’t the ride and perhaps sent back. I contacted Amazon and explained that I would keep the item if they would adjust the price and that I didn’t have time to return this one. I work 64-72 hrs a week and I would have to drive 35 miles to take it to UPS or Fed Ex. It would have been fine had they just did a price adjustment but I got a new one shipped (17” x 24” which was the right measurements) but then was charged for it again. So basically I paid full price for 2 of them with one not being the right measurements.

I love this! I have it set up on my countertop and for the most part I was able to eliminate the big ironing board from my sewing loft. It’s called an ironing station which I found confusing. I would have liked more information on where and/or how to use it. Because I wanted to put the ironing board away, I ended up purchasing a silicone mat for both the ironing mat and iron which has worked out extremely well.
