I’ve been curious about wool ironing mats ,but they seemed pricey. When I found this 17 x 17” for a fair price I bought. I love it. I swear it made my iron more effective. It really does transfer the heat to both sides of the block. I ironed a finished product that had been pressed as the project went along and afterwards a good pressing. It didn’t look like it had been pressed. After goin over it with on the wool mat it was picture prefect. It gives off a bit of a smell when heated with iron but, it’s not too off pudding

This product allows you quilt piecing to lay very flat. It keeps heat in which allows for a flatter piece of work. I may purchase one that is slightly bigger as I really love the way the heat stays in the mat. It never leaves my ironing board.

I researched this product and read many reviews. Not all reviews were great on the web, but I decided to take a chance. VERY glad I did. It is thick, so the surface beneath the pad does not get too hot (I still wouldnt do it on a nice dining table though), and any steam seems to evaporate out nicely. I have mine on a small workshop stand with a particle board top and it works very well. Obviously, its not large enough for pressing clothes - this is for the quilter/sewer.

I learned about this product in my quilting group. The members loved their wool pressing mat. I found this one on Amazon for $10.00 less than they paid and I love it! I use it when piecing quilt blocks and it is far better than the most common types of pressing mats. The seams on the blocks lie flatter and the blocks are not distorted when pressing. This is great!

It’s a great pressing mat and does everything it’s supposed to, but it STINKS! Every time I use it, I have to open up all the windows and doors (and the smell still lingers in my room). It smells like a barn every time I use it, and the smell is as strong as ever even after 2 months of continuous use. Note: I’ve been ironing dry because I read that steam makes it smell even worse.

I bought it because I wanted a high quality ironing mat. Its very smelly at the beginning, I felt like I had many sheep in my room.... After a month of using, its better now. Hope it holds well because its expensive.

This is a 24” x 17” thick and dense wool ironing mat that doesn’t smell at all! It is large enough for my sewing projects. I’m very happy with this choice.

Its handy for small projects without having to use a big ironing board. It has a sturdy base and a smooth surface to iron on. I really like its portability. Do not use on porous surfaces, such as wood, because it does sweat and could stain.

I like this pad quite a lot. The only downside is I initially purchased it when the description stated it was fine to use with steam. Unfortunately it has distorted the evenness of the pad. I would give it 3 stars due to it being misleading, but because it’s no longer stated that way, I’m giving it 4 stars, as it’s overall a fantastic pad.

I’ve been searching for a solution to streamline my sewing room. I came across this felt ironing mat on a search and was intrigued. I have had disappointing encounters with other creative supplies and approached it with some doubt and skepticism. The reviews were promising so I decided to give it a try. I’ve only had it a couple a days, but boy am I impressed! The size is great for ironing and assembling blocks, the surface is smooth and the pad is thick and substantial. My seams have never been so flat! Great investment and addition to my quilting studio!
