I bought this as a replacement for my Samsung T5 500GB. I used it for a while, but was suddenly getting disconnections which eventually turned into corruption. Thankfully I take standard backups, and I assumed it was due to exFAT being a less reliable filesystem, and swapped to NTFS. Once it corrupted a second time, I contacted Samsung and they submitted an RMA for it. They updated the firmware it seems, but that still doesnt resolve the issue and I dont trust this with my sensitive files for standard use. I still have it and I plan on keeping it, but I can never trust this drive again with anything that I care about.

I use this drive for 1+TB of Native Instruments instrument libraries. I connected it USB-c to my iMac and use it with Logic Pro X. Never never have a delay when switching libraries or loading midi instruments. I also own a T5 for video production. the T7 is twice as fast and for the price increase worth every single dime!

Great physical size, but actual storage size was supposed to be 1tb, ended up being 931gb.

    Greater than one week

Perfect for my Traveling MacBook Air auto backups. Weight is always an issue for travel, so so is space. This is a 1 TB SSD Just works, is super fast, tiny and feather weight. PERFECT.

SSD continues to work fine, but was leaking white waxy material after 1 year of use. Some searches online revealed that the case has an encapsulated Phase Change Material (ePCM) and it likely leaked while under heavy load. There are YouTube videos and Reddit posts of similar experiences. Still works fine, though its concerning. A fast drive and I still generally recommend it; ordered a 2TB version, will focus more on cooling as I request warranty service.

I bought a cheaper product and struggled with it. It took hours and hours to copy anything to it; and once it was done, it had omitted a bunch of files. Kept throwing an error message when I tried to write those files.

The Samsung Portable SSD T7 is the next standard in external storage. With transfer rates up to 9.5x faster than traditional external hard drives and read/ write speeds up to 1050 MB/s, you can move massive files around with unparalleled ease and fluidity. Its sleek, shock-resistant design is uncommonly durable, capable of withstanding drops from up to 6ft, so you can take it on-the-go with complete peace of mind. The T7 is compatible with PC, Mac, Android devices, gaming consoles, and more. Included in the box are USB Type C-to-C and Type C-to-A cables for added convenience. All firmware and components, including Samsung"s world-renowned DRAM and NAND, are produced in-house, allowing end-to-end integration for quality you can trust.Performance may vary depending on host configuration. To reach maximum read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s, respectively, the host device and connection cables must support USB 3.2Gen 2 and the UASP mode must be enabled. Based on internal test results compared to a Samsung external HDD 1TB (HX-MTD10EA). Test system configuration: ASUS Z370 ROG MAXIMUS X APEX (USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C), Intel Core i7-8700K CPU 3.70GHz(Coffeelake), OS-Windows 10 RS6.
