Bought a 2017 iMac with spinning 5400 rpm drive . Machine almost unusable . Plugged this in to lightning port and all I can say is Wow. Speed increased 10 fold from 70,s to 750-800mbs. Best $60 upgrade you can do .

Faster than I thought external drives could go. Im pleasantly surprised at the small form factor and it is lighter than a feather. I bought this and a 1TB drive.

Not the fastest thing in the world but the materials feel premium and durable, the capacity is fair for the price and there is essentially nothing to complain about.

There are a number of reviews here warning about the excessive heat of the drive and of the computer, including suggestions to purchase the prior slower T5 model, which is discontinued but available at a similar price, due I imagine to these concerns.
