Greater than one weekI got the HP 15-inch FHD laptop for my daughter in case school was cancelled again due to coronavirus. (Her Mac broke). It is a reasonable price, but has some flaws, hence the 4 star review. I love that it has a 10 hour battery life and is very lightweight, so its very portable. However, if I wanted to use it as a work-from-home computer, this is not functional as it doesnt have a Ethernet port as some employers require that. So, its Wi-Fi or nothing. HP needs to put one in to make it more compatible for various usages.

> 3 dayThe battery life isnt great, as soon as I got it (brand new) it had battery issues that caused it to just stop booting up at all and I had to spend hours figuring out how to fully drain the battery manually to get it to come back up. It only has two two USB ports and one USB-C port and ALL of them are data transfer only, meaning no charge capability and no data-in capability which was INCREDIBLY frustrating. It also only has ONE display port which is an HDMI cable. Overall, the flexibility is very limited and Ive experienced way more bugs than I would ever expect to with a brand new machine and, honestly, have experienced fewer bugs and more flexibility with refurbished/reimaged machines. Get something else.

> 3 dayThe 15-dy1036nr is a good laptop at a good price. I think it provides a lot of value. The laptop has an Intel i5 10th gen processor with 4 cores and 8 logical processors. The 10th generation processors include AVX512, which is an impressive instruction set architecture. AVX512 was the reason we purchased the laptop.

> 3 dayI was expecting this laptop to be a bit under-powered, and not quite up to the mark in video and audio. I was completely wrong: this machine blew past my expectations. For a general use laptop, used for web browsing, word processing, and similar purposes, this is more than an adequate machine, this is really very good. The performance is more than acceptable: I havent noticed anything being unusually slow or erratic, it just runs smoothly and fast. The display is 1920x1080 (so HD but not 4K), and clear and crisp for watching online video (for example). The audio too is surprisingly good: you can play music on it and enjoy the well-balanced sound, no cringing necessary.

> 3 dayMy other laptop was almost six years old so I was really excited to get this new one. Its got a solid state drive, which helps make it faster and lighter. I didnt realize how HEAVY my other computer was until I picked up this one. The screen is also very clean and clear and I love how the text displays. Im an author and a blogger, so I do a lot of text-based work on my computers, and I was so impressed by the display. Everything looks so neat--

Greater than one weekI bought 2 of these for my daughters so they could do distance learning. They are great for that (although I wished they had more USB ports). BUT- while the speakers are decent and have a good volume, the built in microphone is GARBAGE. Pay $25 and get yourself a stand-alone USB microphone or a USB headset with a boom microphone. You will be glad you did.
