My toilet was constantly making that refill noise. And yes the issue was the worn out ring causing leaks. Instead of changing out the whole flushing kit, I first decided to give this a try. And glad I did! Cheaper and easier to install quickly. And the problem solved!

I purchased my home about 6 months ago and noticed the flush knob was ‘sticky’ on two of them. When I would press down on the lever, I’d need to use a bit of force. I didn’t think much of it until one day I noticed one of them running. I thought I was going to need to replace the entire tank mechanism, but a quick google search led me to these gaskets. I opted for this general Koehler part and am glad I did because it worked flawlessly. It fixed both the issue with the toilet running, and with it being ‘sticky’ to flush. Installation was super simple - the included directions were helpful but there are also plenty of YouTube tutorials if you need extra help. The improvement over the old gaskets was so nice that I went ahead and ordered a second to fix the other toilet before the old gasket on that one deteriorated even more. Others have mentioned (and is specifies on packaging) that your old gasket may be red - this yellow one is the right replacement.

It was the perfect size to seal inside the toilet tank. It was the size recommended by the toilet manufacturer. I have no idea how it was installed or what was done. It was installed very quickly and the toilet stopped constantly running.

Genuine Kohler replacement. Replaced the original orange seal that had succumbed to the hard water. Other manufacturers in the past have changes colors when they start using a new material that theyve found to last longer. I havent been able to find information from Kohler to back that up in this case but we did get several years out of the original one. Replacing the old one with this one took my wife less than 5 minutes. She had originally called a plumber who quoted $85 for the visit, plus materials. I sent her a link to a video showing how to replace it and placed the order the same day. The part arrived a day later and she had it done within minutes. The kohler site explains how to identify the correct part for your toilet. If you can do that, then you can do the repair yourself. Nothing against plumbers, there are times when you need their knowledge and skills. This just isnt one of those times.

My toilet was draining and refilling constantly and I determined it was due to the canister seal. I considered getting a cheaper generic one but read mixed reviews, so I went with the name brand. I cant speak to the durability of this item but it was easy to install and the toilet issue has been resolved!

After disconnecting the water line in tank, I had a little trouble twisting the yellow cap off -- was afraid it would break b4 it turned. But the gasket fit in the groove perfectly. But the tank still leaks -- green food coloring doesnt lie. DK if its another tank part or the valve at the wall. So, will call in a plumber after all. At least I know what the problem isnt.

My in-suite toilet would every so often sound like it a was automatically flushing itself all through the freakin’ night! It kept me awake! I thought it was the flush mechanism so I changed that! Then I observed that it was this O- ring that needed to be replaced! This item is the original Kohler replacement. Don’t buy the fake ones, you’ll just waste your money. These aren’t so expensive anyways. Save yourself the headache and get this original replacement! Getting my well deserved zzzzs!!!

We have relatively new Kohler toilets, and none of them work very well. The biggest problem of all, however, has been these O-rings wearing out. Each toilet has one, and so we keep a few of these replacements on hand. Watch a YouTube video or two to see how to remove the old, worn-out O-ring and install this new one. Be patient, and be careful to not force any of the parts when taking them apart, because they all are made of cheap plastic. Remember the old days when Kohler built everything with iron and steel parts?
