It was the perfect size to seal inside the toilet tank. It was the size recommended by the toilet manufacturer. I have no idea how it was installed or what was done. It was installed very quickly and the toilet stopped constantly running.

I have a couple Kohler Cimarron and one Kohler Wellworth toilets that use these seals. On the Kohler site, theyre shown as yellow, but this image shows a red seal (like the original). The seals I received were yellow, which allows the user to more easily see that theyre installed evenly and correctly. Ill post a picture of the actual seal later. [...] The instructions on the back of the packaging were super-easy to follow. Its a simple matter of a quarter-turn to unlock the cylinder, then lifting out the cylinder and replacing the seal at the bottom. The seal went on easily and my toilet was fixed in about a minute or two. Nobody should feel intimidated by this process! Anybody can do it. The only issue I had was that the plastic piece that locks the cylinder down seemed to be stuck a bit, so I was afraid I would break it, but it broke loose and came off easily after that. It was a simple quarter-turn to remove it. I bought a couple of these. Shipping was covered by Amazon Prime, whereas on the Kohler site there was a shipping charge. Excellent product with simple instructions on the back. Highly recommended! I now really like this better than the old style flapper seal. Dont pay anybody to do this for you! You can do it!

The toilet kept running and I looked on YouTube for the answer. It was this simple little ring. I tried cleaning the old one first. But there seemed nothing wrong with it; nothing to clean off of it. So purchased this and replaced the old one. It works like a charm! And it was much cheaper than having a plumber come out and do it!

I ordered one of these gaskets along with a whole new flush assembly. On a whim, I tried the gasket alone before replacing the whole assembly, and it was less than five minutes start to finish. Great tutorial videos on YouTube. Great update to a bad factory gasket.

Hard to rate just yet, as I need to see how well/long it holds up when continually immersed in a chlorine based tank sanitizing tablet. Kohler says not to use tank chemicals as they void the warranty, but the tablets have been a necessary evil for me to eliminate biological build up of rings in the bowl. The OEM seals were orange-red and had deteriorated within about 3 years. They got sticky and made using the flush handle very stiff as the seal was bonding with the plastic cylinder [part of the float system]. Not sure if they began to fail because of the chlorine or some material defect. However, it appears that Kohler has this new replacement seal which may be a different material and may withstand the chemicals better. In any case, the seal was a perfect fit and simple to install although the instructions were not useful. There is a trick to removing and re-installing the 6 solid plastic center shaft so that it is easily removed/re-installed. The trick being to rotate the shaft to unlock/relock it in its base, which is hidden from easy view. You may want to check out u-tube videos on the process if you are not familiar with this Kohler design.
