Its worth the price, dont waste your time on the cheaper knockoffs. Just get the goods and sleep well at night. No more leaking or running water. A quick you tube check and you can do it yourself. Sixty plus yo woman here, not a quick learner, but a good learner. Look everything up, your system, how-to etc. Do it once, do it right. The cheaper ones buckle, dont waste your time and money.

Hard to rate just yet, as I need to see how well/long it holds up when continually immersed in a chlorine based tank sanitizing tablet. Kohler says not to use tank chemicals as they void the warranty, but the tablets have been a necessary evil for me to eliminate biological build up of rings in the bowl. The OEM seals were orange-red and had deteriorated within about 3 years. They got sticky and made using the flush handle very stiff as the seal was bonding with the plastic cylinder [part of the float system]. Not sure if they began to fail because of the chlorine or some material defect. However, it appears that Kohler has this new replacement seal which may be a different material and may withstand the chemicals better. In any case, the seal was a perfect fit and simple to install although the instructions were not useful. There is a trick to removing and re-installing the 6 solid plastic center shaft so that it is easily removed/re-installed. The trick being to rotate the shaft to unlock/relock it in its base, which is hidden from easy view. You may want to check out u-tube videos on the process if you are not familiar with this Kohler design.

I noticed that my Kohler (K-4436-AA) toilet would start running randomly throughout the day when it wasnt in use. Reading online it seems that a common problem for running toilets is that the canister seal becomes brittle over time and need to be replaced. There are some great videos on YouTube showing the replacement process for the canister flush valve seal. FYI, The replacement seal is a yellow color while the original seal is red, the product packaging shows that new seal is meant to replace the original red seal. During the seal installation, I confirmed that the yellow seal is indeed a perfect replacement for the original red seal. Additionally, since installing the replacement seal I havent noticed the toilet running randomly anymore. Im hoping that this permanently fixes my running toilet if I notice its running again there is most likely another issue causing the water running.

I’ve only had this installed for a week & it’s working great! I am pretty optimistic that it will do better than the last kohler canister seal ring that came with the toilet originally. The toilet wasn’t even 4 years old & the ring (as shown in the pictures/red ring) was shot. So much so that the toilet wasn’t sealing so the toilet ran all night. This does replace the red seals. It seems better quality than the red ones too. I forgot to get a picture of the new yellow seal but it’s smooth & it is like others have said a little over 3 inches diameter (about 3 & a half inches diameter.) We have a class 5 & class 6 Kohler toilets( class 5 shown in pictures) & this Seal fits both (canister type flushers.) Super easy to install. Kohler has an instruction video on YouTube & I believe on Amazon, that helps guide you to replace the seal. I also bought the genuine Kohler toilet chain on Amazon(sold & shipped by Amazon) fantastic price & products are genuine.

Our home was built in 2013 and the builder put in Kohler products throughout the house. Fast forward to 2021 and some toilet flush mechanisms were getting harder to flush and it turns out that these gaskets need to be replaced to maintain a tight and smooth seal between the tank drain and filll cylinder, especially if you have hard water or big changes in temperature. In our case, the hard water basically dissolved the original gaskets and it was sticking to the tank drain hole when flushing. The new one is super easy to install taking only 2 to 4 minutes. After the install, the flush mechanism is super smooth and water seal is tight. Stick with original Kohler parts for exact measure and perfect fit.

This is a Kohler replacement part. It is very good quality and expect it to last years under my water conditions. It takes about 5 minutes to replace - the canister must be removed so that the seal can be easily accessed. Use care when removing the upper yellow or black plastic disk where the water line attaches. I cracked it on another toilet.

Genuine Kohler replacement. Replaced the original orange seal that had succumbed to the hard water. Other manufacturers in the past have changes colors when they start using a new material that theyve found to last longer. I havent been able to find information from Kohler to back that up in this case but we did get several years out of the original one. Replacing the old one with this one took my wife less than 5 minutes. She had originally called a plumber who quoted $85 for the visit, plus materials. I sent her a link to a video showing how to replace it and placed the order the same day. The part arrived a day later and she had it done within minutes. The kohler site explains how to identify the correct part for your toilet. If you can do that, then you can do the repair yourself. Nothing against plumbers, there are times when you need their knowledge and skills. This just isnt one of those times.

The ring gasket it replaced was allowing a significant leak in my toilet tank despite no apparent damage. This causing my water softener to go through regeneration cycles approximately 3 times as often. I installed the new ring gasket and no more water leakage. Saving $20/month in softener salt.
