> 24 hourI replaced the 500Gb Toshiba factory drive in my older Asus X53e laptop (purchased 2012) with the Intel i3 2310m processor. The machine was getting slower and slower due to drive errors, so I had to look at an upgrade, and it had to be an SSD. I was not going back to mechanical drives. I got the 500gb Samsung 860 Evo SSD drive. Install was extremely easy, took me a few minutes to pop back case, remove old drive and install new one. Longest time was spent on removing and putting back the 8 or so screws. I back up all of my laptops to external USB terabyte drive using Acronis, so it was a breeze to mirror everything over to new drive. I just used my Acronis Rescue Media CD to startup machine, hookup the external USB drive, specify the backup file and start the restore/recovery process. I let it run overnight and when I woke up, laptop started up perfectly from the new drive. The machine screams now, compared to previously. Still limited by older CPU, but it is like night and day compared to the old Toshiba drive. And for only $80, I consider that an affordable upgrade. I would highly recommend this drive, and you cannot beat Samsung quality. I am expecting long term reliability from this drive, but only time can tell that.

> 24 hourWhat you would expect from a quality brand like Samsung. Well constructed SSD with simple packaging. Used to replace my HDD in an older laptop, fit right in. Advertised read/write speeds were accurate (which is usually not the case with many of these SSD brands).

> 24 hourThe Samsung Evo line has been fantastic for me since the 840 evo...I’ve used these in everything from workstations, servers, Linux machines, windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 home & Pro, Mac’s and I even upgraded my PS4 with one! Bottom line these are fantastic and Samsung’s magician Software is awesome for windows, rapid mode is amazing!

> 24 hourI own a small mac/pc repair business and I have installed at least 20 Samsung drives this year. I have been using these drives for more than 5 years and I have not had a customer lose any data to this day. If you have a Mac that is getting the spinning pinwheel coming up more often than usual along with it loading slower and slower this will fix it if it has a mechanical drive. Regardless if its Mac or PC if you value your data this is the drive to get, but as a bonus you get a significant performance increase and if you can afford to upgrade your RAM you will not be disappointed. Most times after replacing your drive it will boot between 20-45 seconds!

> 24 hourIm an IT consultant, and when the evo line was first released with the EVO 840/850/850 pro I started installing the mid range 850 for SSD upgrade of HDDs. In all that time Ive installed over 150 easily (have since moved to the 860 when 850 was fazed out), and I have yet to have a single drive failure with anyone. There have probably been 5-10 machines where the imaging software didnt work, and the latest release of software fails half the time but Ill never use any other ssd given the choice. FYI in that time Ive received many other SSDs in for repair that have just stopped working (hyinx and others). Nothing by samsung for me and my customers.

> 24 hourThis was the 1st of five EVO 860 drives that Ive purchased here. This is a 500 GB and the last two are 1 TB. In each case, I was cloning Seagate or Western-Digital drives and their cloning software worked like a charm, resulting in a SSD that booted instantly. The Samsung software said it cloned successfully but the EVO wouldnt boot. It was only in desperation that I tried Seagates Discwizard and W-Ds Acronis software, and everything went smooth as silk. Now, the Magician software offered by Samsung is a great utility program for the EVO. But their cloning software drove me to tears.

> 24 hourThis is the drive I used to replace a mechanical hard drive in my wifes computer and to replace a smaller SSD in my computer. Installation is quick and easy.

> 24 hourInstalled in Mac Mini 2012 using OWC Data Doubler Mounting Kit for Mac Mini 2011-2012 Models Lower Bay. Significant speed improvement compared to original 5400RPM iT HD, as one would expect.

> 24 hourOk so I just switched from HDD to his Samsung SDD. BIG CHANGE. Made my laptop quiet, very speedy, and the BEST THING ABOUT this SDD is that it comes with Samsung MAGICIAN SOFTWARE which allows me to check my the health and temperature, and of course the storage usage of the SDD. This SDD is crazy good.
