> 24 hourJust wanted to drop a review here saying its super simple to add another 8gb of ram to this notebook. HP provides helpful repair videos on youtube for the DY-1000 series of notebooks that show you how to replace a ram module. If you notice on the video, theres a second, completely empty ram slot beside the one with the 8gb stick that comes from the factory. This laptop supports 16gb of ram (2x8gb sticks), per the support manual from HPs own website. Caution, if you somehow mess it up your warranty may be voided. HP does not recommend you do any sort of upgrades or repairs on this notebook. But, if you want 16gb of ram (and you do) its very easy to upgrade.

> 24 hourI have to admit I got this over a year ago actually one year and 45 days. Was doing perfect had no issues and I was extremely happy with the product. The only issue after one year warranty ran out 45 days later the complete system crashed and cannot be fixed. By no one!. If I wanted to go ahead and get it fixed per the HP customer support technology they would have to replace the hard drive and everything else which would cost more than what the actual computer cost me. So let me just say this if you want to computer spend that kind of money for one year only this is the perfect computer you get if you want anything after a year and get another brand get another computer this is ridiculous. One year 45 days exactly

> 24 hourHave been a customer of HP products for over 20 years. No complaints on any HP products I have purchased from computers, printers and ink/toner. Have always had a positive experience. Cannot rate battery life as I have only used this computer while it is plugged into the outlet.. I would definitely rate this Laptop superior to the Lenovo it replaced.

> 24 hourI bought this one for school, but it isn’t good. The laptop is so glitchy. It turns on and off out of no where, the screen becomes grainy/blurry out of no where. It doesn’t let me upload pictures. The battery literally is drained in 2 hours. I think I was sent a defective one, but at his point I think it’s been too long and I can’t return anymore. I see a lot of great reviews, but really don’t let them fool you like they did me :(

> 24 hourPurchased to replace a 12 year old laptop that was getting slower and slower. After listening to the wife bitch and moan about how slow it was getting I went on line and found this product. I had used a HP Spectra just before I retired and I knew this would work well. We especially like the speed that the solid state storage provides. It will boot up from a cold start in just a few seconds where the old one needed enough time to let you make a pot of coffee.

> 24 hourThis unit will not run monitors off of the USB-C port which annoys me greatly since it only does data but it works quite well otherwise. The problem started a few days after I started using it. When I would move the mouse to do what you do with a mouse the screen would starting jumping and acting like it lost sync and at times the screen would go blank. A chat with HP support that ran over several days ended with them asking me to send the unit in for repair and that is where it sits. I did hear they received it several days ago but nothing so far on the return or repair. No calls about not being able to duplicate my issue, nothing. Im starting to wish I had returned it to Amazon and bought a better model.
