worth the money but my only gripe is they do not auto-initialize so you have to manually turn them on. Im not sure if this can be changed from the onboard settings but either way; out of the box they do not auto-initialize. Ive got a g9 odyssey, an LG 26inch, and 2 of these in my cave. I just wish they would turn on when the signal is detected. oh well. worth the buy.

I had an early ViewSonic 24 LED monitor that had lived past its prime, so getting another ViewSonic was a no brainer as a replacement. I dont use it for gaming, but use it for streaming and normal Internet use. It came well packaged, with the plastic portions protected with plastic tape that is easy to remove. Took me all of about 5 minutes to screw on the base plate, plug in the HDMI and insert the audio speakers into the microphone port. That puts the sound through the external speakers. The monitor plugs directly into my outlet strip, not needing a transformer. Cables are provided if one does not utilize a HDMI connection. HDMI cable is not provided. I utilize the Amazon brand cable.

To put this review into perspective, I purchased this monitor to replace a 6 year old HP LP2065 20 LCD monitor which is not HDCP compliant. On installing this monitor, I noted that the image was bright and lacking in contrast. Brightness and contrast are adjustable in the manual mode in the menu. Adjustments made the image better, but was still lacking in black level performance. Fine text was definitely softer than that on the HP monitor. When scrolling text, a yellow smear was visible trailing the text. This effect was mostly eliminated when switching to the Game mode. However, switching to this mode sets the brightness and contrast to fixed values. They are no longer manually adjustable. I had attended a wedding and took pictures with my digital camera. I processed the raw files and adjusted them the best I could based on the monitors image. I had trouble getting them to look right. The color accuracy of this monitor is definitely sub-par. When I printed some of these pictures, they were dark and dull looking, not at all how they looked on the screen. I put back the old HP monitor and looked at the processed images. They were dark and dull on the screen, exactly how they printed. I reprocessed the raw files and now have good looking prints. At this point, I packed up the monitor for return. It cost me just under $15 to ship it back. Lesson learned. [+] THE REVIEW: I got this monitor for programming code. I am not going to speak to the monitors color accuracy. I am assuming if you really want to have tuned color you need to use a hardware device to color correct any monitor you purchase. I dont have that hardware. The colors, as far as the naked eye goes, look great. As mentioned you need to first adjust the brightness and contrast. I turned mine down to 40%. I did not make any other color corrections. The 1080p works great for dotnet programming with visual studio. The wider screen allows me to have my toolbox and my properties windows active all the time without it interfering with the space to design the form. It actually works better than expected. For this price I am really glad I took a chance and purchased this monitor. [Update: 11/19/2014] The more I use this monitor the more I really love it. I am so use to using it now that I prefer it to my laptop screen. I stream HD video to watch Amazon Instant Videos, and it is perfect. When I looked at the price I paid, I forgot it was so low. I highly recommend buying this monitor if you are a programmer or just want to watch anything in HD. [Update: 5/27/2018] Im still using this monitor about 4 years later, and it works great. No dead pixels and color remains perfect.

I already own a Viewsonic monitor and this is the second one Ive purchased because I use two monitors with my desktop PC. An old Dell monitor I used for the second one finally zapped out, so I decided to go with the same Viewsonic brand. I gave this monitor four stars because the screen on the original one has lost its brightness and now has a hazy look. I tried all the settings to correct it, but nothing worked yet. Im hoping the new one wont experience the same thing. Overall I really like this monitor.

Im using this with a mini PC that is mounted on the back of the monitor. I wanted to try my hand at animation and needed a reasonably good monitor. It is a good step up from my Chromebook. An unexpected surprise is that the monitor has its own speakers. They are not great but seem to work okay. The base for the monitor was easy enough to assemble (no tools required) and took only a minute or two to put together. There are several buttons under the right bottom edge of the screen, one being the the power button. Several cables are included; unfortunately, a HDMI cable was not included. I am satisfied with my purchase. Providing it doesnt die in the near future, it should be fine. Edit: I was having trouble with the volume buttons and adjusting the volume for the monitor speakers. After I downloaded the driver for this monitor, that problem went away. I advise downloading the driver from the ViewSonic website after receiving this monitor. It appears to be a necessity.

I use two of these monitors daily at work for CAD work as well as programming machines. The screens provide crisp images of what I am working on. I enjoy viewsonic screens more then any brand. Viewsonic is easy to work with as well. Last year one of my monitors that I purchased from Amazon developed some dead pixels. All I needed to do was contact viewsonic, email pics of the issue I was having and I was told to send it to them and they would take care of it. A few days later a brand new replacement monitor arrived at my place of work. Very happy with their customer service. Viewsonic monitors have a 3 year warranty period, I had owned the monitor for two and a half years. Will continue to buy viewsonic monitors, once you pick one up and use them on a daily basis as I do, you will notice how inferior other monitors are compared to viewsonic.

Great product at a great price. Just wish it was not made in China as pretty much everything is.

Dont do gaming. Average computer use. The picture/screen quality are really good. I do a lot of detailed work in color and the product is excellent for those uses. Speakers are weak. Even at high audio, its sometimes hard to hear. Will augment with another speaker system as this isnt quality. Like the pictures, though!

I needed a replacement for my high-end 4:3 Philips monitor. The replacement needed to have VESA mount provisions so I could reuse the adjustable VESA mount on the Philips. I also wanted reasonable sounding built-in speakers. Ive spent considerable time using the VX2452MHs on-screen adjustments, but the text quality and contrast fall short of the Philips performance. My assessment has not changed after ten days of use. Other than that, the image is good and graphics and streaming videos look good. The sound out of the speakers is OK, but just lacking the fullness of even small external speakers. No surprise there, however the speaker volume with the PC and monitor controls fully high is a medium level at best and certainly never loud. Not acceptable if you plan on being more that a desks width away from the monitor. One last thing is that the diagonal is 24-1/2 not 24 if that matters to you (The vertical screen dimension is the same as a 19-inch 4:3 monitor, and 1/2 shorter than a 21-inch 4:3).
