I think this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Im currently doing Leah Days machine quilting block party. I havent quilted her style before (I really like it) so I needed to have a good copy of her quilting pattern for each block. Hers are really detailed though so after one try, I knew I needed something accurate and this fits the bill. I was slightly off on my seam on one block, so I printed the design on a sheet of the Sulky and cut it apart before laying it down. Its easy to cut, doesnt stick to itself or other things. I thought it was great! I recommended it to a friend who decided it was not transparent enough for her.

This is a great product for hand embroidery. I have had issues with iron on transfers being too faint to see properly (and I followed all the directions) Just print out the design, cut it out and position it on your fabric. It disappears completely when immersed in water and no residue left behind. Ive used it on cotton and linen and had no problems. Update 2/27/2017 - Ive been using this product for a couple of years for hand embroidery projects. If your image is large it can shift in the hoop so leave enough room around the edges so you can baste the piece to your fabric. I also use a 1/2 teaspoon of Calgon Water softener in warm water when I am ready to dissolve the stabilizer. This helps with any residue in tight places.

I wish I had found this years ago. I do a lot of hand embroidery from original designs. I cant draw, but I paste together images I find online and print them out. I have used several methods of transferring the design to fabric, but some detail is always lost. I just created a very detailed design to embroider for my granddaughter, and using the Sulky Stabilizer I was able to get all the details onto the fabric. It does add some weight to the fabric, but not enough to be a problem. And I dont have to worry about distorting the picture when I stretch it in my hoop. I didnt rate ease of removal because I havent finished it yet.

So easy to copy, stick, & hand stitch my embroidery projects. Washes off easily. Hand work is becoming a rarity, this makes easy work of embroidery.

I used this on embroidery projects. It works just fine if you use it in small pieces. After awhile it does loose its stick. As far as rinsing it away well...be patient.

I was able to embroider with great detail and was very happy about that. It’s is much harder to pass a needle through this stuff so the act of hand sewing was not as enjoyable as it usually is.

This is the easiest way I’ve found to embroider any design onto clothing!! I just put a sheet in my printer, choose a design I want to trace, then print and stick it onto my shirt. It comes off easily with water and then in the wash all the leftover ink residue comes off! I absolutely love this stabilizer

I used this for hand embroidery to be able to see my design over black fabric. It adhered well, but was a little stretchy, so it did make some of the stitches look off. I did have problems with it sticking to my needle, which didnt bother me much unless I couldnt put my needle through. I dissolved well, but its kind of thick so it didnt come off all of the way. I used cotton swabs to get the excess off and tried rinsing multiple times. It didnt come out under the satin stitches, so the stitches looked stuck together or most were stuck together and gave the thread a dull finish.

WOW! This stuff is AMAZING for hand embroidery!!! I had some serious doubts about this product, as Ive tried tear away type products before (where you iron on embroidery designs for use on dark fabrics). The problems I encountered with those are largely due to my embroidery style, which is very detailed and very tight, closed stitching. The tear-away products would end up trapped within my embroidery causing hours of tedious tweezer work to get the tiny bits of white fabric out of the finished designs. Sticky Fabri-Solvy is SO SIMPLE to use and opens a entire WORLD of design options! Literally: an entire world! First, you find a design you love (or draw one yourself right onto the Fabri-Solvy). Then, you use your inkjet printer to print the design to whatever scale you want. I was timid about how it would pass through my cheap little printer, but I had NO problems at all. I set the printer to thick paper to be safe. Third, you peel the backing off and stick it directly to your work surface (mine was a denim jacket). Embroider your design. This product makes stitch placement much easier too, because it has a canvas-like texture. When you are finished with your project, place it in some warm water and watch the magic happen! This product simply dissolves away! My project was the entire back of a denim jacket. The Fabri-Solvy stayed in place very well for the entire project. I had absolutely no trouble removing the Fabri-Solvy when I finished my project, despite a LOT of tight satin stitches. It was completely dissolved within about 3 minutes of soaking. Someone mentioned that their needle got sticky while working. Over the course of the 2 months I worked on this project, I needed to clean my needle twice with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. I really found it to be no issue. Fabri-Solvy has definitely changed my embroidery possibilities for the better! I can embroider ANY design from ANY source on ANY shade of fabric I want. I am just blown away by this wonderful product and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
