> 3 dayChecked Noctua’s compatibility chart with specific mode of motherboards. It said that it fit my Gigabyte x299 Designare EX mobo but it does not. The backplate that came with the mounting hardware is not big enough to fit the motherboard. What a waste of time.

Greater than one weekSo I ended up with a used one instead and so it didnt come with the thermal paste and the adapters. It works but the fact that I got a used one really put me off

25-09-2024i7-4790k with mild overclock to 4.5 gHz runs around 38 deg C under everyday loads (3d modeling, data processing, etc) and idles at 28 deg (email, internet, office programs). When stressing the processor it gets to 78 deg but does not need to throttle the CPU because it just doesnt get too hot.

> 3 dayI was using a Corsair H60 AIO for a few months then next thing I know HWmonitor said I was throttling to 100-103 degrees to the CPU. (NO MORE AIO) I bought this Noctua NH-D15 and sure enough my gaming rig is a EASY 30-40 degrees, cooler under a large load on OCCT I only get up to 58-59 degrees. Love you NOCTUA you saved my i7-8700k.
