got this computer for about 8 months now and it is still performing like a beast i use it for every day use including streaming movies and playing hard core games, which it does smoothly, could not have asked for better.

Black screen of death within approximately one month of use. Problems with international warranty. 6 months in, computer still doesnt work, and Acer refused to issue refund.

PredatorSense and it’s IOS application is so useful and successful

Absolutely love the build, form factor (pretty slim and portable for a gaming laptop), screen (vibrant and responsive), aesthetics (Im a fan of the blue colour scheme) and performance. The keyboard could do with a little more travel because sometimes I keep typing extra letter unnecessarily but it isnt difficult to get used to. The trackpad is smooth and works well with no problems.I take the laptop to university every day and I do have to take the charger with me which is not ideal but it doesnt add a lot of extra weight so you are still able to run to class when youre late. I use this laptop for gaming when I travel and I have a more powerful desktop at home. In the main games that I run (PUBG, Apex Legends, GTA V, etc...) I noticed a difference of 10-15 frames per secind (my desktop is equipped with a GTX 1080ti and a Ryzen 7 1700) but all the games maxed out still run well above 60 frames per second.

I received what appears to be a defective unit. Ive had this laptop for about 10 months now. Every several months the laptop cant be powered on. Ive had to send it in for repairs 3 times for the same symptom. Each time they fixed it, it only worked temporarily. I was hoping they found and fixed the root cause by the second time this happened. By the third time this happened within a year, Im now worried this is a trend and Acer wont replace the laptop unless the repair center advises it. When my warranty is up in a couple months, Ill have to pay full price for repairs if the trend continues. If I cant get a replacement unit, I basically wasted $1000. Lesson learned: If the laptop needs to be sent in for repairs within the Amazon return policy, IMMEDIATELY return or exchange it, dont assume that the Acer repair center permanently fixed the issue. Ive voiced my concerns to Acer support, but they wont replace the unit unless the repair center advises that they cant repair it anymore. If the repair center keeps temporarily fixing the unit, then the cycle just continues, and I lose time, money, and productivity.

I come from an Alienware R4 17inch Nvidia gtx 1060. I wanted a smaller laptop without compromising performance, this laptop delivers on this, but compared to my last Alienware, it underperforms in sound quality, fan noise and monitor quality. There is noticable screen bleeding, the 144 fresh rate is awesome, but the monitor itself its not good quality. Overall, this laptop delivers on gaming, I could not expect more since a 15inch laptop will be like this and hardly it will beat an Alienware 17inch.
