> 3 dayAfter reading some reviews I was tempering my expectations of the benefit of an SSD over a less expensive HDD as an upgrade in my slim PS4. But boy am I glad I bit the bullet and got this SSD.

> 3 day16Tb storage (8Tb internal + 8Tb external) is the maximum the PlayStation 4 consoles support at any one time, and Im glad I finally achieved it. I bought two of the 8Tb Samsung 870 SSDs and temporarily put them both on a PlayStation 4 Pro console, even though I already have a PlayStation 5 (itself upgraded with 4Tb Seagate FireCuda 530 with heatsink). One Samsung 870 was installed internally, the other was in an external SATA III - to - USB 3.2 enclosure. Slightly technical note: USB ports on PlayStation 4 consoles are only USB 3.0, but you can usually plug newer USB peripherals into older USB ports, and you can also choose to swap the external SSD back and forth between the PS4s USB 3.0 and the PS5s USB 3.2 for playing your PS4 games.

> 3 dayExcellent performance in my 6 year old PS4. Seems even faster in my sons PS4 slim. Nice and necessary storage capacity bump!

> 3 dayThe SSD package had been opened and then taped shut. Based on the number of power-on cycles in the SMART information it looks like someone was trying to make the SSD work, gave up, and sent it back. Then it was sent to me.

> 3 dayeasy to install and great that with win10 at least, the data migration is automatic once you plug the SATA cable in.

Greater than one weekI bought this to replace my PS4s hard drive while doubling the storage capacity and increasing speeds. It was very easy to install and my PS4 boots and loads much faster than before. Its expensive but if you want to decrease load times, you have to go with a SSD.
