I bought this because the HD on my laptop was running out of space. My laptop is a few years old and uses the SATA connection for the HD. I was able to switch it over to the new SATA SSD with more space (and quicker read times) in an afternoon. Here are the steps I used.

The SSD package had been opened and then taped shut. Based on the number of power-on cycles in the SMART information it looks like someone was trying to make the SSD work, gave up, and sent it back. Then it was sent to me.

The difference is night and day. You dont have to wait for a PS5 to enjoy faster loading times and better performance in general. This SSD also eliminates textures pop-in issues in games like FF7R and TW3. Tested and proven by Digital Foundry. I recommend that you use it externally because then you will be able to use it on PS5 as well when you get one.

This SSD card was great but I returned it because I needed and external drive that I can remove and use as needed. This Samsung drive would have to be installed into my computer. I did not want that.

Been a long time since I built a full system. These things are so nice for space saving. So much faster than the old drives I had. Love it.

Our desktop PC has been running really slow for years and I know the root cause is the hard disk drive. I know that if we switched over to a solid state drive, it will be much faster. Thanks to all the reviews people wrote here. I didn’t know that all it takes is to migrate all the data from the old drive to the new using the Samsung Migration software. I bought the SSD, downloaded the Migration tool, cloned the disk, then switched to the new drive. It took less than 6 hours. Now it takes just a few seconds to boot up instead of minutes like before. Programs run instantaneously after a mouse click. We will keep this desktop a little longer.

This hard drive was easy to install. I used the recommended software and it was a breeze. If you want to increase your storage capacity and faster game access and such, you need to get a solid state hard drive.
