I switched to a new computer, and had to install several programs. I couldnt find the Quicken disk, so bought a CD of it. Starter edition. Right. Works differently from the old 2015 program, is NOT as user-friendly, doesnt have some of the features of the original, and is extremely annoying. Trying to navigate to what you want, or arranging your world the way YOU want it is almost impossible. PLUS.....theyre charging me $30 per year for the privilege of using their software. AARRGH! Im searching for another bookkeeping program!!!!

Although documentation is not clear, my impression was that I could continue to use the Starter version after my 1-year expiration as long as I only needed to enter my deposits and checks. I have never used any of the on-line services. As it turns out, unless I renew, I can no longer use the product and all of my history is not available. Tech support chat confirmed this today. Not happy with these folks.

I decline to keep paying just to use software I bought even though Quicken is a great product. Im a Quicken user all the way back from 1995. It used to be you would pay a one-time charge for Quicken and thats it and buy a new version every few years when absolutely needed for new releases of Windows. Now it is subscription software. You will need to pay for a subscription after the initial subscription that comes with Quicken expires. Otherwise, you will get ads that block out part of your screen and makes using it an irritating experience. You also get frequent emails to pay up. Instead of paying for recurring subscriptions, I suggest trying out for free an alternative called Moneydance (or others like it). It is not subscription based. Pay for it once and thats it. No more annoying nags and ads.

Ive been using quicken for 10+ years and it used to be the de-facto go-to product for tracking your finances and downloading transactions from online. Since Quickens sale from Inuit to HIG in 2016 (not many users know about this), this product has been driven into the ground by agressive attempts to monetize the userbase without providing new features or values. They added a buggy online sync system that frequently corrupts your historical data causing you to go to backups and have to re-enter data. Even if that system is off, new patches will actually corrupt your historical data causing you to have to chase down 1yr+ back in historical data to find a random transaction that is corrupted/buggy. Worst part, HIG switched Quicken into a recurring subscription model for online services, but if you let the subscription expire to use the tool offline, they fill 20%+ of the application with red and yellow nag screens. Since being sold to HIG, its clear that Quicken is now just trying to squeeze every last dollar out of its userbase before enough people leave the tool and the product ultimately dies. Recommend everyone stay away from this tool.

Quicken use to not be subscription but they have become greedy like other software vendors. I used to buy the software and it was good for at least 3 years before you had to update to a later version which made it more economical to purchase. Now they hit you with a $35 to $45 yearly subscription and if you dont re-subscribed they cut off your bank downloads.

I had previously subscribed to Quicken Premier, but purchased a Organize your Money Starter edition on 30 December 2020 as my Premier would expire in January 2021. I have been trying to install the new purchased edition and have called Quicken twice with no success. They reported both times that I had to purchase Quicken through them and not Amazon. This is very poor service. I cannot activate my new program even though I have the activation code.

I had been told that intuit had dropped the subscrption but not true. I would sell this if you really want to use it.

Bought the software, did not like it so returned it. Have proof of delivery and requested refund 3 times but still waiting.
