When we first got this printer, I loved it- it is sleek and shiny, and I loved that it fits right in with our other stereo components. I like the convenience of having our printer in the living room, since I do so much of my computer work on the couch right there, and it is nice to be able to print things from my iPhone as well. Over the past couple weeks my husband and I have had to use the printer for more than just printing a coupon here or a short document there, and we have been fighting with this printer CONSTANTLY. Here are the issues: -it jams CONSTANTLY -it is rather difficult to unjam, because it does not come apart very easily -It chews up the bottom of the pages of paper even when it isnt jamming -it spits the papers out onto the floor, not onto the completed document arm as it is supposed to -it runs rather slow -it doesnt like to operate on any setting other than default. Not even fast draft, black and white -it will jam on every single document set to print double-sided -it randomly stops in the middle of printing to allow ink to dry. Printers have been around for decades and havent needed to do that, so why now? -it occasionally starts printing half-way down the page, so it cuts off the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the page of text. Ive had printers in the past that will act up a bit when there starts to be too little paper in the paper tray. Im wondering if the small paper tray (80 sheets max) is why this printer is ALWAYS having issues. I seriously cant even print a 6 page double sided document (3 double sided pages) without it jamming. The concept and the look of this product are great, but quite honestly, the quality and reliability of this printer is horrible!!! If youre looking for a printer that will print just the occasional coupon before you head out the door, this will probably do the job. But if you need a real printer that actually works every time of every day on every document it is supposed to work on, look elsewhere!

I am a research assistant and a graduate student and was used to owning a high speed (b/w only) laser printer. My laser printer works fine but is not compatible with my lap top or other computers in my home so I needed one that would fulfill other requirements. I was hesitant about choosing an ink jet but on a grad. student/research asst. budget, this offered a lot of features I was looking for and allowed me to not only remain within budget but save some money. Set up was simple. Just plug it in and follow the on screen directions, enter the accompanying cd into your cd/dvd rom drive and follow those directions. In my case, my computer found the printer right away. There was one time that I became distracted by a pop up to register my printer right then to receive a free gift and when I did that, I somehow left my original set up screen but it was no problem because all I had to do was click on my printer icon on my computer to pull up the set up screen and resume where Id left off (which is important because the final step will print out your code to be used with efax). Setting up efax was also simple from their website, you just choose an email address, enter your printer code and can adjust privacy settings. I have not used the efax yet and I doubt I will have much use for it but it is nice for just in case. I only test printed a picture onto paper right after set up and the colors were great but the ink did bleed a bit. Of course, I would imagine using photo paper for the HP printer would solve that problem and I do not print pictures often. Printing articles was a breeze though output is much slower than my old laser printer but the quality is also better. The colors (even black and white) are richer and more formal looking than articles and papers I print with my old laser. The best feature is that I dont have to have the printer right by my computer because of wifi and while I do have to plug the printer into a wall socket, it can be anywhere in the house. People have commented on its looks...that wasnt a huge concern to me, but it is pretty. I have the brown one and it is dar k brown with bronze enlay around the face. It looks like a huge dvd player or something. Also, it is very heavy but also sturdy. I am concerned about the little arm that extends out into thin air when printing that if I print something over 12 pages or so, papers will go flying of the arm onto the floor. So far that hasnt happened. :) I also plan to be careful because if the little arm breaks, that will be a big pain. For the money that I spent on this, I think I got a really great deal overall. This printer has a lot more features than I was originally looking for and the possibilities are endless. I will update this review the more I use it and the more features I try out. I do not regret purchasing this product and I am looking forward to using it more.

OK bought it to replace my older HP; quieter, prints wirelessly though sometimes a pain to set up - the front touch panel is very difficult to use ( my fingers do not work well with touch pad devices)

First off a normal fair price is around 125.00. Thats what I paid for it right here on Amazon a few years ago. Ive had no issues with this HP printer. Its very convenient to send something from my phone to the printer. I dont have to stop what Im doing, get up and go do it manually or through my computer. Now I can even ask Alexa to print something out for me. Im very happy with this hp printer. I even had the Envy model before this for several years before I got this new one. The old one got damaged in a water leak in our home. Otherwise I would it to still be working today.

The touch screen that is supposed to be used to set up the printer did not work. We spent over an hour with HP helpline (from India). Amazon agreed to take the printer back for credit but charged 20% re-stocking plus shipping costs. We lost $50 and decided to stop buying stuff from Amazon.

The design of this printer is beautiful; its the nicest looking printer Ive seen. Unfortunately, for actually printing it is the worst printer we have owned. There are numerous issues with printing from OS X Lion, many of which HP seems to be aware of as they have been commented on in the HP support forums for many months. Example issues: - Printer loses connection with the Mac (this appears to be an issue with both OS X Snow Leopard and with Lion). HPs solution is uninstall the printer and reinstall it, which does resolve the issue UNTIL the next time you go to print, and once again you have to uninstall and reinstall the printer. - Changing simple options on the print dialog (e.g. print in black & white only) results in about 80% of the page printing, and then the printer hangs with an unintelligible alpha-numeric error message that HP support doesnt even seem to be able to figure out - By default the printer ships enabling automatic updates to the printer firmware if the printer is connected to the Internet. A potentially very nice feature, which unfortunately for a fair number of users results in the printer freezing up partially through the update. Only way to get this resolved is to ship the printer back to HP. We were hoping that when the replacement printer arrived, the other issues would have been resolved. Unfortunately, this new printer suffers from the same issues. HP support did recommend that we turn off the automatic printer updates. Oddly, about the only thing that works reliably on this printer is printing from iPad and iPhone! Just today after trying to print the same doc from the Mac to the HP four times with no success, I switched and printed it from the iPad. It worked fine. My advice is avoid HP if you have a Mac.

I admired the design of the original Envy 100 but held off on buying one. I just went ahead with the updated 110 model this past weekend. The printer was a breeze to set up. My PC established an ad hoc wi-fi network with it and securely transmitted at my primary home networks info securely to the printer itself and then switched both back to my regular wi-fi network (802.11g with WPA2). After that completed, the printer just worked without requiring any configuration on the printer itself. Printing from my laptop or from my iPhone works perfectly. Earlier reviews had talked about the tray and panel not closing properly - that all seems to be working fine for me. The printer is almost silent in its operation. Its so sleek and stylish that it looks perfectly in place sitting on an side table in my living room. I havent used the e-fax feature yet but am glad to have it. For the occasional sending or receiving of faxes, being able to do so without a land line is a welcome feature. It costs a bit more but the design and operation are superior to the inexpensive options, in my opinion.
