After an internet download so it would work with Mac Lion, it now functions, is compact, and has caused no additional problems yet. Previous HP printers have survived only 11 months so it is a little early to tell.

I like this printer so much I can not decide what I like best about. It is unobtrusive and operates very quietly. The quality is great and it was very easy to set up.

We got this printer less than two years ago, it looks really nice, and the ePrint and Wireless features are nice to have. However, sooner after an year, it starts to breakdown quite frequently. Called support, got instructions and got fixed, but a couple of months later, it happens all over again. Now it happens every other printed page. Called HP support again, they promised they will replace it if it breaks down again. SO it did, and I called them on my way to work , they cant process the replacement since I was not sitting in front the Printer. Now finally I got time to sit down and call, and have been on the phone for almost an hour, still waiting...

I have owned this for several years now. Never a problem printing, copying or scanning. Looks like a fine piece of equipment on my desk. It does so much more than print, copy and scan, but I have no use for the other functions. You can fax from it, and it communicates with iPhone and iPad well. To be honest, I really dont avail myself of all its features. If you are like me, you might want to forgo the bells and whistles. Also, even on the most efficient settings, it uses a lot of ink. The ink is not refillable so be prepared to buy new ones each time. It also doesnt do well unless you are buying the genuine HP ink.

The more I use this the more I really like it. So far no problems and very easy to understand and use.

Stopped working properly after too short a time. Black ink here and there on the paper. I tried cleaning the heads and all the other options. I googled the problem. Nothing cured the problem. I ended up throwing it away.

I had an Epson printer before this that printed better quality photos, but it ate through ink like crazy and the print quality worsened dramatically over time. I have owned this machine for about a year. I dont think it would print high enough quality photos from it that you would frame them and hang them, but how often do you really do that? Our family, not too often. What this printer does do however is, so far, print pretty reliably regular household printing. It has a number of pretty good features: Its quiet; you can print from your iPhone and iPad (nice); its simple as pie to set up on your home wifi; as an HP, pretty sure everything out there has a driver for it; and, its easy enough to scan. Over all, its a very solid printer. Further, I have the brown color and its pretty good looking. Why is it all of our electronics gray and black anyhow? The brown looks pretty good in the home office. I also dont think the ink bill is too bad, an opinion I have not always had of HP. Just buy the XL size and the genuine ink. I bought the refurbished ones to try to save money, the printer recognized it, complained on refused to print with them- seriously! Anyhow, that was a waste, but I like the machine enough to forgive it. (HP Envy 100 e All-in-One Printer)

OK bought it to replace my older HP; quieter, prints wirelessly though sometimes a pain to set up - the front touch panel is very difficult to use ( my fingers do not work well with touch pad devices)

The design of this printer is beautiful; its the nicest looking printer Ive seen. Unfortunately, for actually printing it is the worst printer we have owned. There are numerous issues with printing from OS X Lion, many of which HP seems to be aware of as they have been commented on in the HP support forums for many months. Example issues: - Printer loses connection with the Mac (this appears to be an issue with both OS X Snow Leopard and with Lion). HPs solution is uninstall the printer and reinstall it, which does resolve the issue UNTIL the next time you go to print, and once again you have to uninstall and reinstall the printer. - Changing simple options on the print dialog (e.g. print in black & white only) results in about 80% of the page printing, and then the printer hangs with an unintelligible alpha-numeric error message that HP support doesnt even seem to be able to figure out - By default the printer ships enabling automatic updates to the printer firmware if the printer is connected to the Internet. A potentially very nice feature, which unfortunately for a fair number of users results in the printer freezing up partially through the update. Only way to get this resolved is to ship the printer back to HP. We were hoping that when the replacement printer arrived, the other issues would have been resolved. Unfortunately, this new printer suffers from the same issues. HP support did recommend that we turn off the automatic printer updates. Oddly, about the only thing that works reliably on this printer is printing from iPad and iPhone! Just today after trying to print the same doc from the Mac to the HP four times with no success, I switched and printed it from the iPad. It worked fine. My advice is avoid HP if you have a Mac.
