If it werent for the wi-fi problems, Id readily give this a 5. Its solidly constructed, with a comfortable keyboard, good screen, feels fast despite not being high-spec. But increasingly in the last few weeks, its had trouble holding a wi-fi connection, even when just a few feet away from the router. Doesnt matter whether its at home or elsewhere, the same issue happens: at least a couple times an hour, itll stop seeing the router and become completely disconnected. It takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes to see the router again and reconnect. Its not a heat issue -- this thing never gets hot -- and its not a line of sight problem or anything like that. Moving it to another place doesnt help it see the connection again.

I used a website based documentation system for work so I got an extra laptop so I didnt have to bring mine back and forth during the week. My only con of this laptop is the screen. Its too bright and too high contrast that it makes it uncomfortable to look at. I have to have it in night mode to use and still bothers me if Im using it for over an hour.

It works real good, but I cant get it so I can do things by touch on the screen. I havent tested the battery use yet as I always keep it charged.

The touch pad is very finicky and doesnt seem to work well. The keyboard layout is also strange and takes awhile to get used to.

This thing crashed my home internet every time I tried connecting it to my wifi. Upon further research, it turns out these HP Chromebooks are notorious for crashing your home internet and not being able to establish a stable connection with your WiFi. I wish I had done more research prior to purchasing this model. Learn from my mistake!

Dont waste your money on the Chromebook if you plan on using it heavily for school or work. Youre much better off with a laptop that performs like a desktop. This is essentially a glorified cheap tablet made to compete with laptops, which is does poorly. It was completely useless for my needs and I guess I got what I paid for. I will be selling mine at a loss.

This is my first Chromebook. Ive always had Windows machines in the past and still use a Lenovo T480s for work, but Im impressed with this HP Chromebook. Its intuitive and the interface isnt busy with apps. Its light and for browsing, its quite fast. Ive only had it for a week, so I still havent experienced an update. Updates are something I dread with Windows. The Chrome browser seems to work better than Edge with most websites.

I have had good luck with HP computers in the past, and this Chromebook is working very well for me (after a few months of use). There was a bit of a learning curve, but that would be the case with any Chromebook, if you arent familiar with using a laptop. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with it. I use it only for getting online (email and Facebook and browsing), and it works quite well for that. I dont do Zoom, but Im sure it would work well for that, as well. The quality for the lower price is great!
