Bought two of these to pair up with a 4070 Ti video card. They arent true HDR, but theyre nice.

Gave it a try at ~$225. Picture quality is very nice but the ghosting is awful. All colors bleeding and leaving a a colored halo trail behind surface or line or contracting color. I do not recommend this for anyone gaming. For Photoshop or picture quality its nice, but not for gaming. Returning it. March 27, 2023 The example photos were taken with the monitor at 165hz refresh rate and the monitor setting Gaming > Response time > Level 4(Fastest). Double checked both computer Windows settings and nvidia settings, all set to 165 refresh and working properly. Game was running smoothly. One photo is not moving. The photo with the cloud blur and doubling was taken while moving the mouse at regular speed, not trying to whip 180 or anything.

Its been few months now, so I can review this monitor. I got this for a bargain here. The color is perfect. No dead pixels. Laptop and Desktop detects this automatically. I certainly recommend this.

Do yourself a favor and wait until this goes on sale again for <$200. Anyone in the market for a 1440p monitor should seriously consider the X27q. People over on r/buildapcsales go absolutely gaga for this monitor whenever theres a flash sale. And for good reason, too. It has all the specs you want - 165hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and of course the budget friendly yet crystal clear 1440p resolution. No, you wont get HDR or any other bells and whistles, but for everyday use from streaming media content to gaming, the X27q is more than up to the task.

Bought this monitor for my daughter for casual 1440p gaming on Black Friday for $170. It’s a great deal! Overall I’d say it’s on par with my 27” Dell 2721DGF 165hz. Good: 1. HP’s color is vivid and rich. Image quality is better than Dell. 2. So far no IPS glow or corner bleeding. And no bad pixel. 3. Low latency and actual gaming response time seems good. Not feeling any slower than Dell. However, fast moving object (fps game) is not as clear as Dell. 4. Thin bezel - excellent for dual monitor setup. 5. Incredible value for an IPS panel at this price. Bad: 1. Build quality is average. The plastic bezel is not really straight if you look closely. The back panel is also cheap and flimsy. 2. Only one HDMI and one display port. No usb or usbc port And the display port comes with the monitor is short. 3. Power socket is slightly loose. I need to really push the cable connector all the way in to get power. 4. Does not work well with AMD image sharpening. Looks really bad even with 10% sharpening setting. 5. Free sync is not consistent. Experienced some stuttering from time to time. Never has this issue with Dell. I don’t use free sync often so not a big deal to me.

The buttons on the back are not in a good spot. The Monitor flickers in and out of display at times, however this could be an isolated incident. These things put off VERY high EMF RF frequency. Recommend 2ft away. The picture quality is top notch, I have a 4k Benq 27 monitor and these look better at 2k side by side, the color difference (for the better) is what stands out the most. A Competitive gaming edge is VERY noticeable with online shooters like, Halo, COD, Overwatch. I have a 32 and 27 If you want a gaming monitor, This is the best you can get for under $150.00. The next best is the Samsung G7 for 500.00. @4k and 120hz You can stop researching what to buy as this is one of the 2 options.

Purchased the legendary treasure truck deal, monitor came quick. Was unfortunate to learn the one I received came with the cheaper BOE panel that HP swapped into these bad boys to save money. There is an odd green tint on the screen I cant seem to remove with any settings. But for a second or third monitor this thing does the job.

Firstly, theres lots of discussion (for years) about this product having two variants. One has a panel made by LG and one BOE. Both are fine but are EXTREMELY small details. For the normal person it doesnt matter, but in sum, LG panel is better for office stuff and the BOE is better for games. It is a very very small difference and theres lots of testing to find on Google. I have the LG one. Good: colors out of the box are good, quality feeling stand, and vesa Bad: The stand somehow glides despite the 17kg monitor its holding, buttons are old, monitor itself is kinda cheap feeling/looking, you can only rotate the monitor one way, and you cant use the fastest response time without experiencing ghosting, and there is coil whine if you use HDR, but the HDR actually sucks as brightness doesnt go up, and local dimming is non-existent so black color on screen while youre in a dark zoom look eh. For 100-200 this is nearly perfect though. For that price range. Obviously more expensive stuff will close this out of the water. Just 100$ more can go a long way.

The Hp x27q Gaming monitor is solid built, beautifully designed monitor that delivers a crisp picture. I like the size, at a 27” diameter, as it allows me to observe the entire field of play that is presented without having to physically move my neck and minimizes the movement in my eyes. The picture is very clear and response time are very fast at 1 ms. Im no longer at a disadvantage when competing online. Its also a great monitor to do general computing chores, such as web browsing, movies, productivity apps, etc. But it really excels as a gaming peripheral. I also found the viewing options such as tilting, rotating and pivoting to be quite helpful (for example when viewing documents that are portrait oriented and then viewing power point presentations or videos which tend to have a landscape orientation. I cant think of anything I didnt like about the monitor. It suits my need as a gamer quite well.

All play, every day. We"ve redefined high definition gaming with IPS technology, 165Hz, 1ms response, AMD FreeSync™ Premium, and more colors than ever before.
