Gutermann Sew-All Thread 1094 Yards-Black (24357)

Nice big spool, feeds thru mackine without any problems...bought the white too....keep both the black and white near the machine along with a good supply of prewound black and white bobbins for quilt piecing...One color or the other usually works. Gray would be a nice addition in this size.

I have been sewing for over 20 years and have used Coats/Coats & Clark brand thread for all that time. It was cost effective and trouble-free and up until recently I had no reason to change it. When I began doing supplies research for my online clothing store aimed at a specific type of 1/3 and 1/4 scale collector dolls, I simply wanted to see if there was another good brand of thread that came in spools larger than 500 yards. I had always seen the Gutermann thread at Joanns, but it seemed very expensive for the same product I was already buying. It was a bit of a surprise when I came looking on Amazon and found this thread that has twice as much per spool at about $8 when the 500yd spools I bought locally were about $5. I was a bit nervous switching brands of thread, but since I have only been working on outfit mockups, if it didnt work then my customers wouldnt know. I was just hoping I could save some time not having to re-thread bobbins so much. That was two months ago. I have made a crazy amount of things with a single spool that is now nearly empty, and Im ready to order two more. This thread is SO perfect for what I needed. The strand is smaller than the Coats all-purpose thread, but honestly I think it is a bit stronger. I have not had a single problem with it in my machine, a Brother CS6000i my husband bought me recently (also from Amazon.) No knotted bobbins, no snapped threads, no tangles or anything. Ive had more problems occasionally with the Coats thread. I can truthfully say that I am pleased beyond belief, especially because I never expected to find a thread better than my tried & true Coats brand. I love the Gutermann thread so much that I was gushing to my mom and sister about it just yesterday. I couldnt have asked for a more perfect thread for what I needed.

Everyone has a thread they are drawn to and this one is mine. I can sew with it on my machine without trouble and do hand work also.

Very smooth, my machines like it. The color is a true white, not the mottled blue in the photo.

Gutermann thread is the best! I love that it is lightweight, yet durable and reliable. I always try to buy Gutermann when I can, and this was a great price for how much thread I got. I made a queen-sized quilt exclusively with this thread, and never had any problems.

My sewing machine only works well with Guttermann thread. This spool was not the usual quality and kept splitting which was difficult when threading my needle.

I use this thread for stringing feathers to a central yarn base while making lei. It works well when pulling it tight. Doesnt break very easily.

I’m in the midst of my Halloween costume sewing extravaganza and realized I’m running low on black thread. Being that I’ve spent days in fabric stores to get all the supplies together to start these projects, I was dreading going back for just one freakin’ spool of thread… until I remembered: AMAZON! I’m happy to report that my thread arrived quickly (two day Prime!) and is the exact same quality and brand of thread I usually get at Joann Fabrics. I wasn’t closely reading the description when I ordered it so I was pleasantly surprised to receive such a large spool of thread for the price. This was actually cheaper than I normally spend on this size (even though I usually use coupons at Joann Fabrics). All in all, I’m very happy with the purchase and expect to get plenty of stuff stitched with all this black thread. Happy with my purchase!
