Bought it for my grandson’s PS4 because he was constantly deleting games to create space. Not a problem now. The storage capacity seems to be working out well. It is easy to format and easy to use. I did use my label maker to print out the shut down procedure because disconnecting the hard drive is an extra step if you unplug it to move between households. Great value for the money.

was running out of room on my PS4 PRo... this remedied that and then some. plug and play. transferred eeverythign from the PS4 hdd to this and loads no problem.

WD has quickly become the only brand I trust when it comes to storage solutions. I bought this device for my daughter to use with her PS4, I have another WD device for my Xbox One X. Both were extremely easy to setup and neither have had any issues. Not only is WD often the less expensive option, it is simply more reliable.

One of the things that I find amusing about the way products like this are marketed is that an external hard drive is an external hard drive. Format them however you want, connect them via USB (in this case, 3.0), and they work, as long as you are using a real company, making real products. Western Digital has never given me any problems. Out of the box, no problems here. I was sent a device listed at 2TB, but thats, of course, a little under 2TB because it always is, but these things work. Ive never had a failure from Western Digital. Of course, there are other companies, and however this thing is advertised (gaming? like thats the only reason anyone needs an external hard drive?), you can format these things however you want if you have a modicum of computer knowledge. Do a quick cost-comparison, and get a major brand with enough storage capacity, and youll be fine, regardless of your needs. Its just a hard drive.
