28-09-2024I Recorded a little rudimentary snare drumming with the SM57, and with my pork pie snare, I hear it live with a lot of ring and overtone. However, on the recording, the drum sounds as clean as I have ever heard it! It really amazed me how great of a sound was produced out of these microphones!

> 3 dayA drummer friend of mine had this pack and that is why I decided to buy it for myself. I got a chance to use it extensively recording for about 6 months before he moved on to another musical project. Everyone knows the SM57 is a good mic so there is no need to go into that. The Shure kick drum mic is solid, well build, had a nice design for the microphone input and attachment to a mic stand and more importantly packs a nice clean punch for the kick drum. Its nice, accurate and clear. I use it up close to capture the punch and click while using a 15 PA speaker I converted into a microphone placed about 3ft away to capture most of the low end. It all mixes together great.

> 3 dayThe mics are obviously great mics. Shure is one of the best. The mic clips however are sturdy but annoying to adjust and put on a drum kit.

> 3 dayMy hubby is a musician and records in our basement. Granted the acoustics arent great but weve taken some effort to put up think blankets/carpeting/etc. He was recording on two bluebirds before, and moving to this kit has COMPLETELY changed the sound quality (for the better I might add!), even in our crappy makeshift recording studio. Hes using Garage Band to edit, and has nothing but raves about these mics.

> 3 dayThese microphones are VERY high quality. SM57s are clear, clean and bulletproof... and after I put the Beta-52 in my kick drum, the 18s shook harder and the 15s punched tighter. The reason for my review, however, isnt to rave about these mics (they speak for themselves, do some research), but to rave about the PRICE. Just buying 3 SM57s individually will cost you $300. Add the Mic clips at $40 a piece, and youre at $420 already, and that doesnt even count the Beta 52, which is now cheaper than free! (and its the most expensive mic in the kit!). What a deal. I bought 2. At first I wasnt sure I could use the other Beta 52, but I couldnt see paying MORE to buy the other 57s I needed... and as it turns out, that extra kick mic sounds GREAT on my 18 floor tom! If you need mics and want quality and arent rich... BUY THIS SET!
