Five stars for form and function. Great unit. No issues so far

Received three broken drives. Not sure if the problem is quality control at Seagate or if they get damaged during delivery. All three drives make clicking sounds. With the first drive, I was able to copy a couple of files at 25 MB/s, but eventually got a drive is write protected error message. Formatting failed. With the second drive, copy speed was only 10 MB/s and then I got the same error message, and was unable to format the drive. For the third drive, I tried ordering the Seagate Backup Slim 4 TB model but it just made rythmic clicking sounds and was not detected by Windows at all. I am not ordering any more drives from Amazon. I will try to pick one up from the local office supply store instead. Although five bucks more expensive, it should eliminate the risk of the drive being damaged during delivery.

It is a bit bigger than we expected, but it works.

bought the backup disk for the purpose of backing up files and photos. After I received it I copied to it for days all the material I had 3 tera and after a while I happened to check one of the copied libraries, it turned out that it was empty and could not be copied to the empty space and it turned out that there are damaged areas on the disk. I turned to Seagate because three months had passed and the disk could not be replaced on Amazon. Seagate asked me to send them the disk and they sent me a new disk but did not pay all the accompanying customs clearance for shipping and I was asked to pay another $ 50 for a disk that cost me $ 75. The new disk was also damaged with defective areas discovered in testing software sent to me from Seagate support. I turned to them again and was told that they would replace my disk again. I told them I was not willing to pay again for the shipping hes and they claimed they could not pay the tax but I refused to get a disc I would have to pay tax on again and in the end they paid (it turns out they can) the new disc that arrived was also damaged but was no longer I have the power to replace and I agreed to leave it as it is while it has unwritten areas and I asked that they return the 50 dollars I paid in addition to get the replacement disk which was also damaged and they refused. The whole process took more than 8 months and most disappointing

Ive been using computers for a few decades and learned my lesson. I always use Seagate hard drives now.

I bought this for my Xbox One to expand my storage space and it works perfect. No lag or trouble playing any of the games downloaded on the hard drive. Also stays pretty cool in temperature for the amount of gaming I do with it.

For someone who isnt very computer literate the user manual is a bit confusing. Took me a while to make sure I was actually backing up my computer.
