Now Im no professional gamer or know a ton about monitors. I bought this two months ago because I like to game but my wife always wanted to watch the tv. I decided to go with a monitor because I heard it had advantages over a tv such as response time. And yes it is true the monitor feels way better and I feel like I am winning gunfights I would have barely last before..after playing around I found the settings I liked it has been amazing. Very clear picture and great colors. Im happy with this monitor and plan to get another one soon.

I hardly have any qualms with this monitor. But three things that might be a deal breaker for you. Cons 1) The mount is a bit wobbly even when screwed in tightly 2) Back light bleed 3) Dead pixel(s) so far I only have one dead pixel and it isn’t all that bothersome but if continues to deteriorate I do plan on updating this review. Pros 1) Solid price point 2) Clean minimal bezels 3) 165hz 4) auto shut off feature when not in use (I play PS4) 5) No input lag 6) Image quality is great

Ive only had this monitor for a few days, but I will update if I have any major changes in thoughts on it. That being said, this is my first high refresh monitor, and WOW. I have another light duty, 75Hz gaming monitor from Acer as well, and it pales in comparison. The colors on this monitor are very vivid, and the refresh at 165Hz is so buttery smooth. One thing I will note, it sits low, close to the desk, with the stand a good few inches shorter than my other monitor. Thats less of a big negative (I just put a few books under it for now) but it may be something you might want to be aware of if youre like me, and dont have a very tall desk and like to sit up straight on the computer. The only downside with this monitor is...I want another one, and it just stays sold out!!

    Greater than one week

The 1 thing is Ive seen with my monitor is that sometimes when my computer is on sleep and I wake it up it sometimes does not say there is an input connection. So I just unplug and replug the power cord it and it works. That error occurs very little, but just an easy guide to fix it. Although the good price for 165Hz and comes with HDMI or display port.

Picture quality is pretty good under the intended resolution/frequency although if youre running the monitor at anything smaller than the maximum resolution Ive noticed it seems like theres a sort of weird dithering type appearance to the screen thats hard to describe and harder to photograph but massively impacts the readability of lower contrast text for me. The way the monitor interacts with multiple computers is fairly infuriating, often by completely disconnecting from the computer when its not on the display to the computer in question. This causes all your open windows to get jammed onto the remaining display. The OSD does not to my knowledge feature the ability to tell the monitor to hold on an input and stay there with multiple computers connected. I share the display between an always on gaming PC (DP) and my work laptop (HDMI), and sometimes I am stuck unable to switch the monitor to my work laptop for several tries as the monitor gives up on acquiring the HDMI signal extremely quickly and reverts to the DP input.

165 hz, 1 ms, IPS panel?? Am I missing something? Sure it doesnt have G sync but this monitor is still awesome and beats almost all other monitors at this price point. I went up from a 1600x900 20 inch monitor by sceptre, and I am shocked about how much of an improvement IPS is over backlit. Brightness that it was set to on out of box was a bit dark, but it was easy to adjust to my color and lighting preferences. Some users say be weary of dead pixels and bad customer support, so be weary of that , though I havent had to deal with those issues and I am very happy with this purchase.

You get what you pay.... buy a better brand than Sceptre. Sceptre is great if you love traveling to the post office and consistently RMAing your monitors due to factory defects. The first image is the monitor after a few weeks of use. Played video games for a few hours a day and watched Netflix. Normal use of the monitor is too much stress for it and is super sensitive. I submitted an RMA order for the monitor. Unfortunately when you RMA the monitor youre forced to use the same box it came with. If you ship it without the original box and gets damaged, they can file a claim but it will get denied. They do ship a box free of charge, however, it is ground shipping which took over a week to receive. I shipped the monitor back. A few days later I get an email that my monitor was on its way back. The monitor didnt actually ship out until a week after I got the email saying it supposedly got shipped. The monitor finally arrived after almost a month. Great news turned to bad news when there was 3 lit up pixel spots on the screen. The last three pictures is the monitor that came back. Theres 1 pixel in the center of the screen and 2 on the right. One of them is huge. I contacted Sceptre to RMA the monitor a second time and they did not offer overnight shipping, credit or any replacement. I will now have to ship this monitor out again and wait about 3 weeks for it to return. Overall, very poor quality and customer service. Never buy a Sceptre product.

The monitor is great, however, the package came with a criminally short power cable and no manual.

***Edited to add the instructions for 120Hz on XBOX** On your xbox settings: 1. Settings 2. TV & display options 3. Under Advanced section, select Video Fidelity & overscan 4. Under display, select HDMI 5. Go back one screen, under Display, select resolution and select 1080p 6. Under refresh rate select 120 Hz I was a bit skeptical because of some of the reviews but I’m very impressed. No dead pixels, bright enough to play in a very bright room and it can also be dimmed. On my Xbox one S I was able to get up 1080 @ 120hz and 1440 @60hz. You just have to do a couple of setting changes in the Xbox itself. Most games are coded for 60hz but it looks so much better on this than a regular Dell monitor or Big Screen TV. After playing on this, I refused to play on a non gaming monitor. In the game Call of Duty Warzone, I was able to get my first win on the first day I played with this monitor. I was now able to see actual enemies and not just what I thought was a “bush”. When I am playing with other friends, I sometimes see stuff they don’t see and they ask how I was able to see those enemies because they didn’t notice it. The monitor helps so much. The stand tilts very little and it doesn’t go up or down, so I ended up ordering a VESA compatible stand for less than $25. I would definitely recommend this monitor. Ive had it for about 3 weeks and I play on it everyday. Im sure there are monitors that are way better, but at this price and with these features, I think the monitor is well worth it.

Ive only had this hooked up for a couple hours, but Im pretty blown away so far. - No dead pixels. - Up to 165hz refresh rate with DisplayPort (cable included). - Brightness, contrast, and color range are fantastic at default settings. Best Ive ever seen. - FreeSync is an option if you want to give it a try. - The vertical viewing range is excellent. - The horizontal viewing range is decent. One con: I dont like the included tripod mount. Its short, and it has three small points of contact with the desk, so Im buying an aftermarket mount. Luckily the monitor has the four standard screw sockets in the back so it can take an aftermarket mount. Im not letting this take away from a 5-star rating because the value is still very good. Hard to imagine how a monitor could get meaningfully better than this. Best monitor Ive owned, and at under $200 its a steal.
