i ordered 2 of these 11 months ago so as to use them in a dual monitor setup. I was disappointed from the start. I was skeptical at first to purchase these monitors due to the price tag (200usd) and the specifications that were offered for that price. The monitor cannot run 165hz, it can sometimes but it cannot keep up. screen tearing at this refresh rate is almost always there, everyday. i would have to refresh the signal every time so that i can get smooth 165hz. until i decided enough was enough and just ran the monitor at 144hz. dead pixels on one monitor. like 7 or 8 of them, which i have no idea how that happened. the colors arent all that great. especially for an ips panel. that was dissappointing. the screen tearing was happening even with freesync on. tried to fiddle around with the overdrive settings, but to no avail. i am selling these 2 monitors and opting for a more reliable and reputable competitor. very disappointed, the monitors are barely a year old.

So, I’ve attached some photos of the screen tearing within the monitor after just 2.5 months of use. I tried a new cord, different slots, and reset the monitor—still tearing… It tears when using 165 hz and 144 hz settings. The tearing is slowly getting worse and flickers more now. I’m pretty frustrated about this purchase. I got bamboozled! I’d really just like a $200 monitor that doesn’t just start failing after 2-3 months. I’ll edit this rating if customer service helps with a replacement or refund. UPDATE: They honored the 1-year warranty and tested my monitor for free with a free shipping label. After about a week, they claimed it had “no issues as of yet.” I told them to test it again and to leave the monitor on for a while. They emailed me back after doing so and concluded that there was indeed an issue. They replaced it with a brand new monitor which works perfectly as of now. It was all a bit of a hassle, but they fixed my issue, and I’m happy with it. It’s a good monitor for the price. I was just unlucky and got a faulty monitor. It happens! Great customer service.

Ok, so I bought this knowing the Asus brand didn’t have monitors available in stock. Since this had few reviews and I bought it new, I was a bit skeptical but after receiving it today as I do this review it’s amazing for console and pc. If you get yours and it’s grey or has not much color when you turn it on please turn your saturation on to 100, I was really afraid it was a bad one but it arrived with 0 dead pixels and just turning the saturation up and messing with it for a few minutes I found my setting that fit for my eyes and gameplay. I totally recommend this if you have a ps4, planning on getting ps5 or have a pc. Also the response time is very good.

If you dont mind serious backlight bleed, these will work fine for you, but dont even bother using the included DisplayPort cables, because you wont be using them very long. I bought two of these in October of 2021, and one of them had the DisplayPort fail within three months. HDMI still works, and I can still get up to 144 Hz refresh rates, but that isnt the 165 Hz that was promised. The DisplayPort on the other one failed today, and as my graphics card only has one HDMI output, I either have to roll the dice on getting a good DP-to-HDMI adapter or replace the monitor. One things for sure, Im not buying another Sceptre monitor. I should have taken a hint and returned them when I realized the silver logo on the front is literally just a bunch of stickers that will come off if you remove the protective plastic too quickly. Furthermore, the reason for the backlight bleed is that the top 70% of the monitor consists of the panel and a thin sheet of plastic holding it up, with no rigidity whatsoever. That means any tilt adjust has to be done from the bottom unless you want to risk cracking the panel! Im half expecting the HDMI to fail in another year and force me to throw out the monitors entirely. This level of quality is unacceptable in a time when there is so much concern about sustainability. If you really must have a cheap high-refresh rate monitor, even if this is $20 cheaper than the next option, go with something else. And if this is the only option in your budget, be prepared to use it with only HDMI, and put up with the heavy backlight bleed.

Purchased this for my Xbox Series S and have no regrets whatsoever. The Freesync technology, coupled with 120hz refresh rate (max output for Series X/S is 120hz), makes gaming silky smooth and no stuttering at all. I recently upgraded from a first generation Xbox One and 60hz monitor, so it was like night and day once I upgraded! The picture quality is amazing and unlike some others, I have not noticed any dead pixels. My only complaint with this product would have to be that the stand is not adjustable, but for the overall price and quality, this is just a minor inconvenience. I highly highly highly recommend this product.

There’s not a whole lot to say about Sceptre’s monitors so far besides the fact that they’re great for value, and I have not been disappointed by them yet. This monitor in particular surprised me, as most monitors at 144hz refresh rates often go for a much heftier price, let alone one thats 165hz over DisplayPort. I am not a professional photo or video editor, but from face value the monitor has great color replication, contrast, and offers an overal great viewing experience. One minor gripe I always have about monitors is their use of those bulky, large AC wall adapters, but this one has a few nice QoL upgrades that make it less frustrating to use. Overall I am very pleased with the monitor.

First the pros: very nice picture quality, I love the refresh rate!(165hz), Adjustable stand!, very bright screen, sleek design, low price Cons: unreliable at times, I had it running for hours the first day I had received it (early btw) but the next time i turned it on it said “no signal” to every device i plugged in( yes i tried different cables). The next day i came back and it suddenly decided to start working. It has been working since then. Overall, I would recommend this but I would also recommend getting the extended warranty with it! update 3/2/21: turns out that this monitor now has a faulty display-port port. When I plug it in via HDMI it works fine, but it will show discolored dots on the screen when using display-port. I have decided to just use HDMI for now, but the fact that I cant get that extra 21 hz advertised is annoying (running it at 144 instead of 165).

Ive been using this monitor for about tqo months now, and it has been truely amazing. I bought it for $169.99 which I thought was an amazing price for performace and still is. It picks up input signals easily and is VERY bright compared to my laptops max screen brightness. I received the monitor with no dead or dull pixels at all, and still no issues the 165hz/ 144hz/ 120hz refresh rate makes this very versatile for many build types, and any framerate above 100fps is smooth like butter with no tearing at all. The stand is very stiff so this can be taken in different ways according to preference I personally dont move my monitor often so knowing it will stay in place makes me feel at ease. The legs on the monitor look very cool and have textured soft rubber pads under the legs where they meet the desk. The monitor is so good foe the price that i feel like buying another even tho i dont need another. This monitor can also support 1050p, 900p, 720p apart from 1080p so thats very versatile to other builds or application. I would really recommend this monitor to anyone on a budget, because the customer servic is also great, for around $170 id recommend jumping on that deal because a month after i bought it, it was $350 on amazon and sceptre website.

This monitor is gorgeous to look at and performs wonderfully. The only issue I have is the support seems to be a little precarious. The unit can be pushed to tip forward with very little force. It you have furry children who walk around on your desk, you could easily end up with this unit screen down. A quick answer if to make sure the back leg is secured somehow. The long answer is for Sceptre to engineer future versions with a more stable base.
