Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

If youre looking for a high capacity, low(ish) cost SSD that is reliable, this is a great way to go. I always recommend Samsung to my clients. I now have... 3 or 4 Samsung SSDs between my two main computers and they work fantastic.

So far no issues. Used it to replace a 1TB spinning rust drive that began having weird wind up noises. Didnt want to take my chances and successfully transferred over all my files (simple copy paste, no software required after formatting the drive properly). So far, its been behaving perfectly.

Clean install of Win10, way fast

Really fast. Thats about it. It works and hasnt died yet so what more is there to say.

As we have had this SSD for a few weeks I cant personally vouch for its long term prognosis. However, based on other reviews I have seen, I have good feelings for that. As to everything else it went very well. I used it to replace the old drive in a Toshiba notebook. I went the easy route and made a clone of the original drive and got no grief. I used an external dock for the new drive, made the copy, moved the new SSD into the notebook, turned it on and it started up just fine. As the notebook is a several year old I7 it always was quick in general use. However, you could go out to the local diner, order lunch, eat it and come home before all of the usual bloatware on the machine executed. It generally took way too long to complete its full start up process. With the new SSD in it the world changed. It is fairly quick now in its start up process. When I have time Ill edit this review and add the actual startup, data transfer speeds etc. Suffice it to say for now that we are most happy with the new drive.

Its a solid product. Through and through. In fact, even the Samsung SSDs that I have had for years are still going strong. Awesome performance. Awesome price.

Samsung SSDs are consistently faster than other brands I have tried. Easy to install. My PC now boots in less than 10 seconds.

This drive was purchased to replace an 8 year old Seagate drive in Dell Vostro desktop. I have previously had a good experience with 850 Evo drive which was used to replace a 7 year old HDD in an HP notebook. In both cases, installation was trouble free and these SSDs literally breathed new life into the old and sluggish computers. I would highly recommend Samsungs 860 EVO and 850 EVO SSDs to anyone looking to increase the speed and reliability of their aging laptops or desktops.
