Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E1T0B/AM)

Samsung is the champion of fast reliable SSDs and the prices are falling fast. If you need a 4 TB SSD that fits into a standard laptop - this is the drive! I installed this disk into a Macbook Pro Late 2011 17-inch computer in a RAID0 with a Samsung EVO 850 1 TB and Im getting about 900 MB/s read and write speeds. The drive in single configuration runs reliably at around 500 MB/s read and write speeds. This is the second RAID0 Ive set up on a 2011 Macbook Pro by removing the DVD player and installing another SSD with a caddy. My previous RAID0 was a Micron 2TB SSD with the Samsung EVO 850, which performed well with a write/read speed of about 890/650 MB/s. So, the Samsung RAID0 is reading a 250 MB/s faster than the Micron drive.

I put this in my 7 year old Dell laptop and there was definitely a noticeable difference in the speed. This was not only seen through usage but also confirmed by performance tests. My son is now able to use the laptop for gaming, a task nearly impossible before the upgrade. Very happy with this purchase.

Decided to upgrade my mechanical HDD in my laptop to an SSD after upgrading my home PC with a similar but larger SSD. Using Samsungs migration tool plus a StarTech 3.0 to SSD cable made cloning my old HDD OS to the SSD breeze. Faster load times and faster file transfers are definitely noticed once installed. Startup time with my mechanical HDD was 52 seconds and after installing the Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SSD, I now have a 28 second load time. That is considerably faster especially being able to be on a webpage at about the 30-second mark after startup which when I had the mechanical HDD I was only able to be on a webpage on a fresh startup until about 1mn and 20ish seconds. If you are looking to upgrade a laptop I recommend Samsungs SSDs as they are reliable and their migration software is super easy to use and much faster than using something like clonezilla.

Replaced 1T HDD with 500 SSD for our old iMac late 2012 model. BlackMagic speed test shows 500MB now compared to 100MB in old drive. Open mail, safari or chrome instantly without long delay. Cheap and easy upgrade!

Very fast performer and very easy to install.Benchmarks were better than I expected, especially for the price. Amazing. You could spend more money, but it would be a waste. This device rivals $300 drives.

Installed this SSD in a Windows 7 HP desktop. Used Acronis for a quick clone of the 1TB HDD C: drive. Swapped out HDD, fired up without any issues in about one third the time. The Windows 10 upgrade installed in about 40 minutes. All around much faster operation and no problems yet.

The item came quickly and packaged well. The installation was easy without any issues. Disk access speed was much better than what I had before. It has been over a month and it is performing as expected without any issues.
