People have experienced issues with these SSDs but a firmware update will prevent them. Youll likely receive this SSD with the updated firmware already, but it is quick and easy to check so do yourself a favor. After all of that is done, enjoy the quick speeds of these beasts!

> 3 dayThe ssd is super easy to install following the instructions on ps5 YouTube channel. Make sure you get the right size screwdriver to open the ssd slot and change the position of the screw. Takes less than 5 minutes. The system must be updated to the latest firmware update BEFORE you format the drive, otherwise it will not have the same read speed. Format the drive and it’s ready to go. Very fast and all games are playable off it (ps4 and ps5)

24-09-2024The one I got from Amazon last month already had the latest firmware installed. If you are putting it in PS5, if you are seeing more than 6,000 MB/sec in the speed test you are good, you got latest FW. If you are seeing least than 6,000, you need to update, which can be done with an external Thunderbolt enclosure (not USB-C) if you dont have a desktop.

> 3 dayI went from running out of memory and having to load some of my games off of a hard disk drive to having plenty of memory and being able to load all of my games off of an SSD; leading to vastly improved load times that are usually incredibly quick. I never see textures still loading in after getting into a game anymore. In other words I got exactly what I wanted.
