SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, V-NAND Technology, Storage and Memory Expansion for Gaming, Graphics w/ Heat Control, Max Speed, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM

Added this to my build for running the OSs off.

I have a HP All-in-one desktop with one 16GB M.2 NVMe SSD and one 2TB traditional hard drive. The SSD was used as an Optane cache. Windows 10, applications and data are stored in the hard drive. The desktop is 3 years old and its overall performance is fine but the OS and application launch is very slow as many files are loaded from the slow hard drive. So, I decided to disable the Optane cache and replace the 16GB SSD with a 2TB SSD and clone everything in the hard drive including OS to the 2TB SSD. This Samsung SSD fulfilled my goal quite well. Now, the OS starts much faster and application is launched without annoying noise. One thing I have noticed is that after installing the 2TB SSD (4TB capacity in total), the PCs fan runs a bit more frequently especially when its dormant but before going to a sleep. Im not sure if it is because a temperature sensor is not attached to the installed SSD or Windows does some background operations more frequently due to the large capacity. By the way I tried doing it myself (you can find instructions online) but it was a bit difficult for me and I was worried that I could break the back cover (also I didnt want to buy drivers etc). So, I went to a local computer store and they replaced the Optane cache SSD with the Samsung SSD in less than two hours. Overall, Im satisfied with this product and my decision to replace the traditional hard drive with a SSD to speed up Windows.

I had high expectations for this ssd and it kept up to those expectations easily. No issues so far and works great.

Works great to boot the 64bit Raspberry OS on this drive instead of the SD card.

This is a great ssd with price to performance ratio that is hard to beat. Ive bout a few ssds over the years from Samsung and a couple other companys but this bad boy right here is like driving a Lamborghini. Fast small and has all the technology to make it last. Im using this as my maon boot drive with windows 10 pro and couldnt be happier. No waiting for windows to open or close. Pictures and video load in a flash ( no dial up sounds found here). Just buy it you wont regret it.

High performance

Love it! Wish I had purchased is 1TB version, after switching to M.2/SSD as my boot drive, I cant imagine life without it now. Cant beat the load / boot-up times, just takes a few seconds .

I bought this for an upgrade to a new HP laptop.

Got this to upgrade my Lenovo Flex 5. The laptop has both an M2 NVME and a 2.5 drive interface which are now both occupied for a total of 4TB of drive space. Windows was placed on this drive since its supposedly faster than the 860 SSD. So far its been reliable and no issues. I also maxd out the RAM by purchasing the Samsung 32gb module (the laptop has only one RAM slot). Ive now fully loaded my Flex 5 with Samsung products! Thanks Amazon for selling a variety of products at an affordable price.

If you are not a power user and content creator do not buy the PRO version, this new drive has 1Gbs higher speed than the 970 PRO 512 GB
