Im using this in a 2015 15 MacBook Pro. Of course Macs come with a proprietary mounting system so I had to purchase a Sintech adapter as well. It took me some time to figure this out but I put the HD in an enclosure and the upgraded the firmware on it first. Point of note, Samsungs black magic software did not work for me in upgrading the firmware. I had to download the firmware from Samsungs site and use a third party app to upgrade the software. Then while mounted to the Mac I formatted it to APFS and then used carbon copy cloner to make a carbon copy of my HD. Overall its been great but despite having upgraded the firmware Im still having some overheating issues. It was more significant when first installed but is less now. Currently running at 140F with a 6% load on the CPU.

This is my first NVMe drive ever and it lives up to the hype. The best thing about it over SATA 3 drives is the random read/write performance. If you can swing it I would recommend one of these as a boot drive with other storage media for data storage, such as SATA 3 HDDs and SSDs. My only complaint is that the drive runs hot, with my drive regularly reaching 58-62 degrees Celcius during gaming sessions.

My GL552VW-IH78 allows only PCIE NVME SSD so it very easy to replace with it to this 1TB SSD. I used it for OS partition. Now when I run many windows apps it is even faster. Not help internet network speed, of course, since that bottleneck is network bandwidth and not SSD speed. If you copy large files from this SSD to regular SATA hard disk it will be limited to the 2nd slower disk speed, of course. I am very happy since this costs me only $112. The box says production date is 4-19-2022 (Made in Korea) and today is only 5-26-2022 and I received it. I downloaded Samsung magician (download url is in box booklet). I already have the most recent firmware so no need to upgrade.

Ive tried many M.2 products in the last few years from a variety of vendors. The Samsung 970 EVO Plus is the best value. Dollar for dollar its the fastest NVMe drive there is. The tools Samsung provides to manage and benchmark the drive is equally terrific. My current drive, a Samsung 960 EVO M.2 250G version, was equally impressive when first purchased 3 years ago. This new drive will replace it, something I do proactively every 3 years to avoid potential hardware issues - these drives wear out a little quicker than the old bare-metal drives that lasted a decade no problem. Price was reasonable, Prime delivery was next day no problem.

This didn’t work with my computer, the return time was short. When I tried to return it, the return window had closed and now I’m stuck with it!

I was running out of space on my 500GB internal hard drive that came with my Lenovo Yoga 720, so I decided to try to clone everything onto this 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus hard drive and swap it. I bought this drive along with an M.2 NVME SSD Enclosure Adapter Tool ($20 here on amazon), which allows you to plug in this drive into a USB slot to clone your internal drive. I used the Data Migration software that came with the Samsung drive and followed the instructions, which was very simple. It worked flawlessly, cloning everything that was on my factory drive (all files, the Operating System and everything, a true clone). After cloning was complete, I powered off my laptop, opened it up, and there was just a single screw to remove to swap the old drive with the new one. A novice can do this job easily. Not only do I have double the storage space, but my laptop now runs much quicker.

Does not come with a SSD mounting screw. However most motherboards should already have one included. Pretty standard. Ive always used samsung for SSDs they are super reliable, Ive yet to have one fail on me.

I bought it specifically to have storage for games in my laptop (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55) to my surprise it was really easy to install and after two months of use I can tell that it has been an excellent purchase, I can play the games in few seconds plus it was full compatible, at least with the model of my laptop
