23-09-2024Over the decades, I’ve installed countless operating systems at home. Many times I have upgraded the capacity of the main drive in Windows and on MacBook computers. This was the easiest ever. Samsung included a downloadable tool that migrated my data from the Windows primary C: drive to the new disk WHILE THE SYSTEM WAS RUNNING! I was expecting the usual removal of the disk, use another computer and SATA-USB cables to copy the data, resizing of partitions, etc. Nope. I was done completely in an hour and most of that was the time to copy the data from one disk to the other. I will definitely be back for more of these drives in the future. Oh, and the new drive runs fine - no problems at all.

> 3 dayIve cloned and installed 3 Evo 860s without any problems. So, I thought the (1 Tb) 870 is said to be better so Ill buy and use that this time. It failed completely.

Greater than one weekAs prices come down on ssd drive buy a NAME BRAND. Dont go too cheap. Pay the extra 10 or 20 dollars for a lasting drive. Other brand I have used including Western Digital, Black or Blue models. They last and the protect your data.

> 3 dayIt works absolutely perfectly, and Im very happy with the purchase. I cloned two operating-system disks (on two computers, of course) and installed these Samsungs in place of the originals. Heres a real-world example of the difference top-quality newest-technology disks can make: With the old SSD (call it K) running Windows and a second SSD (call it Sd) as my backups storage disk, it took 7 minutes thirty seconds to make a backup image from K to Sd. With the new Samsung now running the exact same Windows system and the K disk now as my backup disk, the same imaging process takes three minutes flat! Now thats a real speed upgrade!
