The desc suggests ability to make a slide show with video clips as well - well that was incorrect After spending hours trying to make this work I finally gave up and sent this back for credit

Powerful Editing and Creating Software. This software is for editing photos, videos, and a slick slideshow creator. It has numerous editing functions as well as a gallery loaded with extra content. I particularly like the full range of text fonts and how easy it is to manipulate their colors, sizes, shadows, etc. for use in either your slide program or videos. This software also provides many templates for creating a very professional look to your images. There is a learning curve and I learn a bit more every time I use this platform. In addition they provide 50GB of cloud storage in their extra’s. Its a very easy install with two CD’s. Disc 1 sets up both the Power Director and the Photo Director and Disc 2 contains all the extras. You can download the program also from the internet, just make sure you have your KEY Codes handy as you will need to enter them to solidify ownership. This is a super value compared to other editing software.

I’d seen some of the YouTube people I watch talk about their editing the videos they put on there and I know they use PowerDirector. The reason, I found out, is because it’s absolutely awesome and amazing!! Extremely versatile and if you know how to use all the features I believe you could do just about anything! I’m still trying to learn everything it’s capable of, but there is so much it’s mind blowing! The box came with a disc, but also has a digital download option, and since I don’t have a disc drive (don’t think many do these days) that’s the route I went. It really didn’t take very long for as intricate of an operation as it is. Once it’s installed the fun begins!! Having two or more screens would probably be ideal for editing, but I’ve just been using my laptop and it works fine. Just make sure you have all the requirements to run it. If you don’t have very much ram like me you might experience slight occasional lag, but it’s worth it, I promise. Once you see the end result you’ll be so happy you got this program. From my research it looks like just about everyone in the professional industry actually uses this program because it’s so amazing. Maybe not for films like Avatar, but I’m sure it’s been used far more often than we realize. It’s versatility is out of this world, and I’ve been watching a gentleman on YouTube who’s tutorials are fantastic. PowerDirector University is the channel name, and this guy is extremely talented, and a wonderful resource. It may even be put on by the company but I can’t figure that out yet. Regardless, he can show you how to go from the basics all the way to high level editing. Lastly, I’d say this, I didn’t know what a time commitment this would be. But editing something the right way is a full time job for some folks, so if you’ll be a nights and weekend user like myself you might want to few up your schedule for a bit. But it’s extremely fun to watch your creation come to life, and you won’t regret it. Highly recommend!!!

I used to do photo and video editing very often (and used an earlier version of this software). Its been awhile so there is definitely a learning curve here. Its not software you click on and magic occurs. However, if you take the time to watch some YouTube videos, it works great. Its worth the time to learn how to do it. I am working on editing old family photos and some drone videos done by my son. Its definitely worth the learn and is easier than other software that I have attempted. The results are fantastic.

Ive used CyberLinks software for years, and when you need these features, it is the tool to use. It has just the right blend of easy to use the first time with enough features that you actually use that work great. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty good software for editing photos, but it took me a bit of practice. Other than that, I would say theres plenty of good features, though nothing super fancy, so I would say its best for someone who just needs the basics and doesnt want to spend a ton, but if editing the photos is a more serious endeavor then it might not be quite up to par. For me, this works just fine, since the most I do is tweak and play around with my vacation photos.

I read the listing carefully before ordering. I even did a search on the word windows. No where did the listing at the time of my ordering tell me this would y work on an Apple machine. The company is known to produce software for both Apple and Windows. I was disappointed to Recife a box that clearly says only works on windows. I contacted the vendor - which requires you to open the box and register your product code to even get help, and they basically provided me the instruct to download this software online and suggested I buy the Apple version. So they were of no help whatsoever. I am very disappointed. Buyer beware.

I do not have a CD/DVD reader on my new computer. There is a link to the digital copy in the instructions that doesnt work. When I contacted cyberlink support after creating an account, there response was, You will need to supply a picture of the product, the disks with the product key, and proof a purchase. If you have a disk reader, maybe this is for you... If you dont, buy from someone else. Wow, what a headache.

The basics are easily accessible and the power to go beyond is there too, for both video and image.

Im pretty bad with learning new apps and programs. It feels sometimes like everyone else can just pick them up in an instant and suddenly use tons of advanced features, right out the gate. My husband does photoshop and that felt so daunting to me. He learned it when he had hours of wait time during a deployment, but I dont have that kind of time where Im forced to sit and wait for hours and need something to fill my time. Ive always wanted to do photo editing, but most of the software is just beyond my level. And it feels like most expect me to learn so much right away just to do something so simple. I installed this and it took forever. My computer is about 6 years old and full of junk, so that might have something to do with it. It has Windows 11 and is a 64 bit, but not a huge amount of ram. The download took no time at all. But installation? Over an hour for me. Once installed, I hopped into Power Director, read the little pop ups, and got to work. Using the helpful snip tool, as I wanted to edit some videos that I had for a slideshow, I was able to have my clips ready to go in maybe a minute each, which includes publishing and saving. I spent more time searching for clips than I did the actually editing process. All I did was snip the clips out, nothing else, then save them, and add them into my slideshow. I havent tried any of the more advanced features, because I havent needed them yet. For editing longer videos down, this thing is a breeze. Not only can I snip out just the parts that I want, I can edit the order of them as I work, add in gaps of time for transitions, or different styles of transition, and then I can publish it as a continuous stream. So no more adding in one video clip, then adding another, then adding another, and continuously hitting the spacebar in PowerPoint during presentations to get my series of clips to work. Just one smooth video with transitions that I upload into a single slide. It sounds so basic, but I searched high and low for a simple video editor that wouldnt break the bank, that would let me just cut out clips and join them together into one video, and couldnt find a thing that would work for me. This worked perfectly. My only, single complaint is that I was working with some dual audio clips. They had foreign language and English audio attached to the video. I was able to highlight the audio track and change it to English. However, it would only save in the foreign language. I didnt have time to figure it out. I dont know how to unlock the two audio tracks from each other, so I couldnt use all the clips that I made, because I needed the English tracks to make a point for my slideshow. So, today Ill be figuring all that out, hopefully, and will update with how it went. So far, this program has been easy for me to use and thats saying a lot. I think this is probably an intro program to folks interested in this kind of thing. I think that any age could use this program. Its been really helpful for my very basic needs and actually has me interested in trying some new stuff, because it doesnt seem daunting at all using this program. Very happy with this. I havent used tech support. However, when I googled a question about the program, I found 2 support forums on their website that had the answers that I needed. So thats really cool! So far, so good. Ill definitely be making more videos with this!
