The monitor features are exactly what I was looking for as a docking solution to my new Lenovo X1 Carbon; however, after many different attempts, I cannot successfully get all the features to work through a single usb-c cable. The laptop was tested on a Samsung monitor without issue. But when plugging into this monitor, there is apparently not enough power to support usb-c docking as the connection continually goes in and out until I plug in a separate charger to the laptop. This laptop uses a 65W charger, which is what the monitor is specd to handle. Moreover, even when running on a separate charger, the monitor fails to provide USB-3.2 support that is native to the built-in hub. I have had to lower it to the USB-2 setting for the connection to become steady. I have tried multiple cables known to work, so it is definitely something with the monitor. Contacting Philips support has provided so far no solution other than the potential to RMA the unit, but that has not yet been resolved.

I hate writing bad reviews, but this one is deserving. As a budget monitor, I didnt have high expectations, but I was still disappointed. Proves the axiom, You get what you pay for.. Pros: Really cheap, looked great on my desk, seems solidly well-constructed mechanically and reasonably well-designed. But: After much frustration, I returned this and grudgingly spent the extra $300 for a Thunderbolt Samsung. Probably fine for spreadsheets or kids gaming, definitely not fine for any sort of design work. Picture quality, color, and brightness were slightly below mediocre. I could possibly have lived with the meh quality if the monitor had at least connected to my devices and worked as it was supposed to. It didnt. The USBC connection worked on one of my laptops (Lenovo Yoga, and only at low refresh rate. 30hz), but stubbornly refused to reliably connect to the other (Microsoft Surface Book). It seems as if it simply could not handle the charging requirements of the Surface, so it simply refused to stay connected for more than a few seconds, despite multiple hours of trying. Definitely not an issue with my Surface. It works beautifully on the Samsung monitor I replaced this with. In retrospect, I wish I had kept this long enough to take a few side-by-side pics of it next to the Samsung. The difference in quality is truly striking. Bottom line, if you care about display quality (at all) or have a laptop with charging requirements over about 50W-60W, save your time and money and buy a mid-range Samsung or similar.

Its a good size - though actually to big for my desk (thats on me). Im disappointed with color fidelity. Ive spent hours trying to calibrate the color and make it match the Macbook from which content is shared in my dual-monitor type situation and the colors are just always off. I also dont think it should take 4 hours of straight fiddling to try and get colors the same. Its not like the colors are way off, but Im extending my desktop and it duplicates the desktop background image and the colors are just different. It doesnt look horrible, but they dont match. I understand a Macbook is a better product than a standalone monitor like this, but its still frustrating. After about 9 months of usage it has started to flicker, where for a few minutes at a time it will just change its base color temperature. Its comparable to watching night shift take effect on a phone (and no, its not night-shift on my macbook) but the overall color temp will just sort of be more yellowed and less blue for a few minutes at a time, then itll randomly flicker back. Its visually annoying but not disruptive since all Im doing is emails and other boring work things. If I was gaming Id be furious, but Im just a spreadsheet jockey so its not THAT bad. Overall its fine, it does what I need, but Ill probably be looking to replace this in the next several months if the flicker continues or gets worse, or if the color differences begin to bother me too much.

I have bought four of these monitors so far. One my wife uses for casual computer use and for her real estate business. The other three I use for writing code (for my job) and also for casual gaming. They have all performed remarkably and are nice and big and bright and have a perfect curve to them. The only difficult part I have experienced is it can be hard to find a triple monitor stand/mount big enough to fit them, the one I have which does work just barely fits these large 32 screens and doesnt make as good of use of the curve as it could, but thats not an issue with these screens. Its nice that they support both HDMI and Displayport. I dont think you can find a better 4k curved monitor for the price anywhere.

Works as described. Using for work so don’t know what it is like for gaming but I love it. Love the fact that I can connect to my laptop via USB. I have it mounted to free up desk space.

Very easy to set up. More than excellent for everyday computer use and web browsing. Purchased mainly for flight simulator and the 4k visuals are amazing. Good product for a good price.

Currently (2020), this is a great value for a 32” curved 4K UHD monitor. I read many reviews and watched quite a few monitor reviews on YouTube before landing on this display. I use it for work, so I can’t comment on its gaming performance (although some YouTube reviews show that it does a respectable job). Documents look amazing, and I really appreciate the extra real estate. Adjusted to the curve instantly, and now I’m so glad that I went with a curved display. Brightness was too high for me out of the box, as I prefer working in low lighting, so I’ve turned it way down, and I never get fatigued looking at it. Very satisfied with this purchase. In the photo, the monitor on the left is a 24” panel for comparison. You can also see the anti reflective coating on the Philips, but it’s more subtle when looking directly at the monitor, and it doesn’t bother me at all (I was afraid it would). Oh, and I was originally looking at ultra wide displays, but couldn’t find a high enough resolution in that format. So glad I went with this instead!

This was a good monitor, but it died after 14 months. The display is now black so it is either a dead logic board or backlight. I contacted Philips via email using the contact information provided here by Amazon, but after 2 weeks Ive yet to get a reply back from them. So dont trust the 4Yr Advance Replacement Warranty, which apparently is worthless. Ill be trying to reach them via phone and will update this review if they follow-up with some way to get this monitor replaced or repaired. Update 1: After waiting 2 weeks without a reply, I re-sent the email (I found no way to reach them via phone). I received a reply 3 days later (on Thanksgiving) with a ticket and a request for lots more information: picture of front/back of monitor, picture of issue, picture of serial, picture of receipt, etc. Ive now sent all this along and am waiting on a reply. I guess we will now see if they reply with the warranty denied because of physical damage thing that Ive seen posted repeatedly here and elsewhere on the internet. If they do then I guess we will all know the warranty is a scam since my monitor has been used only on my desk and is flawless, as the photos attest. Update 2: Two days after I sent along the requested information, I received a reply that they are issuing an RMA. They have shipped me a replacement monitor via FedEx (should be here within a week) and have I received en email for a FedEx return label to send back my defective monitor once the replacement arrives. So it would seem that they do honor the warranty, at least in my case. Ive bumped the rating up to 2 stars and will adjust it again when the replacement arrives, assuming all is well. Update 3: The replacement monitor arrive, slightly ahead of schedule. It looks to be in great condition. I have adjusted the rating to 3 stars. In reality this is a 4-star monitor (the Dell S3221QS is far superior), but Im leaving one star off for the poor reliability. Even though the warranty did come through for me, this was still a hassle.

Not sure why there are any negative reviews on this monitor. This is one of the few reviews Ive written, but I believe any less than stellar reviews are from those who have not read how to best utilize the monitor. I have no opinion on gaming, as I use this for work, so there may be a difference there. But, for anyone who wants a terrific 4k monitor at a very fair price, this is it. I use it with a 2017 MacBook Air, connected with a DPL cable to the thunderbolt port. DO NOT USE THE HDMI CABLE, as you might not get the full benefit of the crystal clear and crisp resolution this monitor provides. At least that is the case for connecting to the 2017 MacBook Air. Spend the extra $6 and get yourself a Thunderbolt to DPL cable (if you are like me and dont have a full size DPL port, and cant use the provided DPL cable). Buy it.

I purchased this item new from Phillips directly (via their Amazon storefront) 3 years ago. 5-star product all the way. I was needing to retire my older iMacs that I was using for monitors and wanted a 32” curved unit to maximize my desk space. I am a full time graphic designer so it is not a component I wanted to have to think or worry about during my day. This monitor has delivered on that promise. I was impressed with Phillips warranty and I have not had to use it at all. Three years running and no dead pixels. No issues at all. Even the speakers are decent! I was so impressed upon receiving it that I soon purchased another to become dual monitor compatible. Attempting to save a few dollars, I purchased the 2k version thinking I could adjust the second monitor to color match but that was not to be, no matter how much adjusting I tried. I sold that one locally (even though Phillips was willing to accept it as a return) and purchased another matching 4k E-series and those two color matched precisely. Once this was dialed in, I have not had to think or worry about anything monitor related ever. They just work and work very well. Pros: Color range and quality is spot-on for a 4K monitor. Unit is sturdy and trouble-free and has been for the three years I’ve owned it. Cons: Set-up and options menu feels like it was coded in the 80’s but this is probably how most monitor UI is so I can’t blame the Phillips for that. Once set-up, it’s not something you need to trouble yourself with and fine tuning can be done via the computer settings.
