Fit like a charm

It was a cold and stormy night. The rain pelted the windows, hail becoming more and more imminent as lighting cracked across the skies. I laughed maniacally as I removed the side of my beleaguered 2010 Mac Pro, seeing internals that were straining for life, but had yet to attain it. Its power disconnected, ports laid bare, and a gaping hole where the new brain (A Samsung SSD) was soon to be installed. I chuckled as another flash across the sky sent power surging through the neighborhood.

This adapts my SSD perfectly to mount in my 4,1 Mac Pro. Much better than trying to rig the stock trays to fit an SSD.

This tool was suggested by a friend and I bought it without checking the label which clearly stated for 2009-2012. So my bad.

Excellent replacement sled. Well worth the price to ensure you dont mess up the backplane when upgrading to an ssd. Its made of decent quality metal, and fits the original slots well. Normally I find OWC products too expensive for what I am doing, despite their stellar reputation. But as of this writing there isnt much else out there for sled replacements, especially ones that dont require an adapter, and the asking price is definitely reasonable.

Perfect fit

For that select group of people that own one of these 10+ year old beasts and have yet to put a SSD in it, these sleds are the way to go. Four screws to mount the SSD to the sled and the switch out for the existing HHD sled is trivial. Much faster and simpler than the equivalent process in a PC case.

Used to install a solid state drive in my apple tower. Product installed quickly and am very happy with the increased speed and the company. Would definitely order from this company again,
