Great product. Works seamlessly, easy to install, it took less than two minutes.

Looks plastic but it’s not. Comes with screws to attach SSD to tray. As sturdy as the original.

First attempt to add a new drive to my Mac Pro. Extraordinarily easy. Once the ssd and drive sled arrived, all I had to do was secure the drive to the sled with the 4 screws provided, insert the sled/drive into the Mac Pro and power it up. Had to format the drive and everything works as it should. Way easier to do than I expected.

Easy to install and worked with different size drives.

Easy to install and just a little bit pricey, IMO. After installing it makes closing the side panel latch hard. I think the safety latch slot must not be quite right on this adapter. It closes, but with great effort and it makes me think something is wrong.

    Greater than one week

Purchased this OWC Mount Pro to add an SSD in a mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1. The two mount screws along the rail work perfectly, the other two aren’t as secure, but since SSDs are so small and lightweight, this seems like a stable enough solution. I think the OWC blue makes it easy to identify which bay the SSD is installed in later. Likely going to order again for additional SSDs in the future.

Very well built. It fit my Samsung SSD perfectly.

Quality aluminum bracket on par with original apple drive sleds for 3.5 fit SSD right into old drive slot. of course a 500mb/sec SSD will only get 300mb/sec in the built in slots, but good enough for some purposes where max speed isnt critical.

I should’ve more closely read the description, because it does not state that it works with 2008 MP models, but it sticks out too far to put the side panel back on. This is my 2008 MP 3,1. It’s a well made product, and actually fits the tray slot, and fits the drive just fine, it just sits out about 1/2” too long on the end.

OWC Mount Pro 2.5" Drive Sled for 2009-2012 Apple Mac Pro

Add any 2.5" Hard Drive or SSD to your Apple Mac Pro!

While designed with the OWC Mercury brand SSDs in mind, the OWC Mount Pro 2.5 is the easiest way to add ANY 2.5" Hard Disk Drive or Solid State Drive to your Apple Mac Pro (2009-2012 "Nehalem" & "Westmere" models).

The powder-coated aluminum and open design assists in heat dissipation while the blue color not only looks sharp, but allows you to tell at a glance which bays contain 2.5" form factor drives.

Installation is a breeze. Simply attach your 2.5" drive to the bracket using the four included hard drive mounting screws and swap with an existing 3.5" drive tray. The OWC Mount Pro 2.5 perfectly aligns the SATA connection from your 2.5" drive into the back plane SATA ports on the Mac Pro.

Note: Not for use with Mac Pro models released in 2006, 2007, or 2008
