Very easy to hook up. I have not played with settings. Took it out of box and used IPad and external speaker for setup. I would suggest if you are going to to use your iPhone or iPad, purchase a HDMI to lightening cable.

The projetor image just died on me. It shows image for 5 seconds then its gone. I bought it last year September so its not that old.

Overall Im very satisfied with the picture quality, brightness, color, sharpness, and fast refresh rate of this projector. Price wise this is a mid range projector using older DLP technology. The contrast between black and white is not going to compare to a projector that cost 3 to 4 times as much as this. Good Price Quite Built in speaker Bright Bad Poor black and white contrast Poor sound quality Runs hot Im really happy with the projector so far and would buy it again and recommend it to others.

The only thing I didn’t like about it was no Bluetooth for sound hookup nor was there really any good ‘out’ port for a high quality sound system.

Brightness seems good but the colors are weird and not vibrant.

For the price it is the best one, 4k HDR input . It does take a lot of calibration to have best picture. Only annoying thing . Is auto color mode does not work. When in HDR you need to manually change colors space to 16-235. 0-255 is for non HDR content . Nice throw for smaller rooms . Around 9 feet for 120” screen

The optoma hd39hdr is everything I was hoping it would be. Plenty bright to be able to watch it with some ambient light in the room. Beautiful clear picture. I’m sure for $1000 more you could get a better picture but for $750 I’m extremely happy with it. The only thing I don’t like is when I open different apps( I’m projecting an Xbox I use to stream hbo, netflix, etc.) it switches to a bright blue screen for a couple seconds. Not a big deal but a black screen or nothing would be less annoying. Sometimes I’ll catch a tiny bit of rainbow strobe but very rarely and never enough to bother me. My girlfriend had never noticed any rainbows.
