> 3 dayI had the optoma hd20. This version is just so much better. True you can see the image even if there is light in the room. Very usable during the day. You do not need blackout blinds at all. I tried the hdrz 39 version, which uses a lazer. But this bulb based version produces a better image to me when using the same contrast and brightness levels. So i am happy with my purchase indeed. I wish the zoom were stronger because my room is quite large and rather have the projector at the edge of the ceiling. It would look better. Speakers are not good but i used a sound bar. Noize level and heat are much better compared to what i had. Not really noticeable when mounted on the ceiling.

> 3 dayOk first things first, I get my delivery, open the box after a few days, looks like a new machine, but I dont have a lens cover, I thought that was a standard piece of the projector to cover the lens when not in use. Now lets get to the projector. The Hd39HDR Optima Projector. Like I said Im a new projector owner, I have always dreamed of having a setup like this at home since this is what I really like doing. Right now Im watching the Nets vs. the Hawks on my 92 inch Elite screen. But lets get back to taking it out of the box and sitting it on a table in my basement turning it on and being amazed by the picture it showed on my wall (white walls). The picture is sharp and bright. I have a basement that has a backyard patio door, lots of light in here, but yet I can still watch during daytime hours, so I guess that means it has bright picture, the picture was sharp on the wall before I put the screen up. Havent had a chance to mount it yet so its still sitting on the table and with the screen the picture is even better. But this machine is not 4k, but it does give you a nice HDR picture. So far I really like this projector. Ill let you know how it goes with mounting it to the ceiling. But I still have to ask where is my lens cap?

> 3 dayI have had this projector slightly over a year. At first, it was great, no issues. Then slowly a few things started to pop up. Once in a while, all of the images have a green hue. I reset and it is fine. However, the biggest issue is that it is NOT as bright as they say and it seems to be getting worse. I probably average an hour of use a day, so at under 500 hours, I should not notice a huge drop. It has become so hard to see images that I literally need all lights turned off if I am going to try and watch something. I also notice several flickering if an image is panning around. That said, it is the lack of brightness that is driving me nuts. I wrote to optoma and they told me I would have to pay to fix it. Why would I spend more money on a 1 year old overpriced unit? Ill be avoiding Optoma in the future.

> 3 dayWhen I received this item I replaced it with my Optoma HD27-E and it started to work fine. Then all of a sudden the screen began to flicker like the bulb was starting go out. I went on online to replace my projector and received a message unable to return contact Optoma Service. I then called Amazon and received the same advice from someone off shore. I then requested to speak to a Manager onshore and was transferred. When I spoke with the onshore Manager I told her what my issue was and she said she would help me. After I was finished she was very helpful and said that she would replace my projector immediately and that I should receive it within a couple of days, which I did within two days. I asked her why was I told by the offshore reps that there was nothing they could do for me, after I told them that the Amazon website said free returns. She said that there was a misunderstanding and that she would bring it to their attention. This only goes to show always ask the person at the top for help if you know you are within your rights. I have received my new projector, the color is beautiful and there are no flickers so far. I hope this will be helpful to others with the same type of problem.

Greater than one weekBought this projector lamp went out a month later. Had the projector replaced a year later projector will not stay on after about a minute. Tech support tell you to send the projector back for repair at your expense shipping and all. This is poorly made waste of money. Had a BenQ for years never had this problem, projector still works with the first lamp.

> 3 dayNice picture and brightness... pictures are projecting 135 inch screen on a regular painted wall. Still need to put screen up, but it looks pretty good as is. I expect the quality to improve with screen.

> 3 dayI have not yet had the opportunity to use the remote yet but the projector turned out great. I got it to use for movies outdoors and am not disappointed. We hooked up some large speakers and it was just like you were at the drive in.
