This projector appeared highly rated, but it is actually a plastic featureless junk of junk. The glass bulb in my epson 2045 blew out mere days before Christmas leaving glass dust throughout the inside. With no time I ordered this so we had something in time to use on Christmas. It came in the thin retail package with a label on it. Shoe boxes are thicker. I dont know if was damaged as a result, but the keystone adjustment is useless. All the settings are fake and clip the image rather than actually adjust. Its a bloody nightmare for the near grand I paid. Never again. Have had three Epsons in the past 15 years, and Ill never try anything else. Dont waste your time.

    Greater than one week

This projector is a MAJOR upgrade from the Optoma GT1080 I had before. Its brighter, clearer, and even quieter. Also, when switching scenes between light to dark, and vise versa are spectacular. Its not grainy, its not too dark, it doesnt lose color. When my last projector died, I went and got a 65 UHD curved Samsung TV. The price was $800, the same as this. The TV was beautiful, but Ill take this projector any day of the week. I promptly returned the TV upon arrival of the projector. If youre even thinking you might want it, just go for it. You will absolutely not be disappointed.

Good picture quality and allows the 4k and hdr streams to be accessed on prime, Netflix and Disney app on amazon fire 4k. Allows Dolby atmos audio streams to be an option. Tried several 4k projectors and just were not bright enough even in a dark room and had flickering issues due to a long hdmi cable run in my theater setup. Is a bit finicky when changing settings on initial setup but once it’s set I never change projector settings again. All voice activated with a harmony hub and Alexa. Very bright With ambient light present. Replaced a optima hd20 I’ve had for years and it is defiantly an improvement. Until more 4k content is available and atmos movies just not worth the extra for a 4k projector in my opinion.

Purchased this projector back in 2020 and have close to 4k hours on it so far. Here’s a few things you should know before purchasing. 1) When switching between apps, games, video source or even just clicking a menu or home button it’s very common for this projector to pop up a blue screen for around 8-15 seconds. If you’re looking for a very fast, smooth and top notch projector this ain’t it 2) the projector gives off a considerable amount of heat, I live in the desert and already have enough of that so I used a window AC unit to combat the additional heat 3) it’s a good projector, I’ve used it on 20ft inflatable screens, big garage doors, large walls and most commonly my projector screen and it has always displayed a good image. I’m very happy with the lumen output, refresh rate and easily customizable display settings but I have to say at this price point I do believe there are better options out there so I would urge you to keep looking.

This is a great projector, especially if you are using it for gaming. I was so impressed with it, I ditched the TV entirely. Its super bright. Great response times. Enough features. I have Fire Stick, Chromecast, PS4, and a direct connect HDMI all connected. But... It has handshake issues. This isnt the end of the world, but it does make it annoying enough that I reached to Optoma customer service to see if they had any resolutions. I ran across mentions of the issue in multiple reviews, including Projector Central. The main issue Im having is with a direct connection to my MacBook, Thunderboldt to HDMI. It basically wont hold the picture, constantly flickering. Ive tried multiple cables and converters, nothing works. Other reviews mention issues with the PS4 (Ive had none) or other devices. Ive had minor issues with the Chromecast, but not as much as the direct connection. I believe this is a firmware issue, not a hardware issue. Customer support basically brushed me off even after I sent them links to all the other references of the handshake issue. They suggested I send it in, since its still under warranty. I havent made up my mind on what Ill do with the unit yet. I dont want to send it back in, since theyll probably send me a refurb. I just wish Optoma would recognize there is an issue and look into it. They say they have no reported handshake issues. Well, Im reporting it. That said, this is a great projector for the money. I looked long and hard before upgrading. I settled on this one mainly because of the brightness and gaming aspects.

First, Im not a gamer, so if youre looking for an opinion on this as a gaming projector, read another review. I am a multimedia artist, and I do about 120 dates a year at schools, libraries, theaters, and other venues. Videos and images are playing nearly constantly in my programs, so they are a huge part of the audiences experience. I will start with the good. Short throw means you can put this about 3-4 from a 120 screen. As a presenter, that keeps the projector away from the audience and gives me more room to walk in front. I like that. Unfortunately, thats about all I like here and it is being returned. The bad: Most importantly, the colors are dull. I tried every mode and I cranked up the color so that they were more vibrant but then they looked artificial. It looked to me like the bulb was going, but this thing was brand new. I use a lot of nature footage in my programs, so color needs to be bright and natural. The brightness was also disappointing. Im upgrading from a 6-7 year-old Epson projector with about 3k lumens and this did not seem any brighter, maybe not AS bright. I am usually performing in spaces with a lot of ambient light and this was chosen as a best pick on TechRadar for that situation, but I did not agree at all. No lens cap. Are you kidding me? I will be using my next projector for another 6-7 years, setting it up and toting it around hundreds of times. I get that the lens bulges out and you would need something with depth but, without a lens cap, I expect lots of scratches from the abuse my tech gets. The vertical adjustment is a screw, so it takes a lot of fidgeting to set the height right (and thats even harder with this being short-throw). If youre setting and forgetting, then this is not really an issue for you like it is for me. I found it nearly impossible to get a level, square image with this projector. No HORIZONTAL keystone adjustment (this allows you to put your projector off to one side or another). I dont use this much but, in a tight space, this can really make the difference. For the $850 price tag, I expected more. I think Ill be spending even more but Id rather do that than live with a dispappointing

Very easy to hook up. I have not played with settings. Took it out of box and used IPad and external speaker for setup. I would suggest if you are going to to use your iPhone or iPad, purchase a HDMI to lightening cable.

We had an Epson projector in our last movie room but it would stop working then you had to clear it to start working again, we decided to try this brand, I bought it and cancelled the order 3 times because of unclear reviews. This projector is amazing, very clear, easy to set up, does games, movies without any lag like the Epson. If definitely recommend this projector.
