For the price it is the best one, 4k HDR input . It does take a lot of calibration to have best picture. Only annoying thing . Is auto color mode does not work. When in HDR you need to manually change colors space to 16-235. 0-255 is for non HDR content . Nice throw for smaller rooms . Around 9 feet for 120” screen

As few other reviewers pointed out - picture is grainy, dim around the corners, sharpness and keystone controls are useless, cheap packaging, flimsy plastic case that does not inspire confidence, no mounting holes for ceiling mount, remote control layout is unintuitive - good luck adjusting anything with lights off. Bought based on glowing reviews - should have done more research.

Dont buy this. Firstly I bought this projector on 1/16/21 for $694.48 so it has experienced about a 50% price increase while slowly moving towards being outdated. Aside from the price this thing is just a pain. Its very dull, loud, cant run for long, will heat an entire room, but most importantly it will fail for one reason or another and when it does there is only one service center in the country which is in CA.

Purchased July 2022. The projector is a part of our golf simulator. After sitting idle/powered off for a couple months the projector failed to power up recently, 11-23-2022. Tried all reset procedures. Reached out to Amazon and the unit could only be returned by August 23, 2022. Thought we did our homework but obviously we missed something....$1,000 for no more than 2 months of use. I have reached out to Optoma via their contact us. Time will tell if they make it right.

Ive been using projectors for about 15 years now. My latest was the Hd146X, I had it in a bad location and it regularly overheated and crapped out after 2 years because of my own fault. I bought the HD39HDRx as a direct replacement for it. at the time of purchase its only $30ish or so more than the 146x so I figure id try it. Things you should know, it has minimal features. Most significantly Keystone! you can ajust the keystone if the project is higher or lower than center, but if its (significantly) left or right of center DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECTOR!! There is no LEFT OR RIGHT KEYSTONE. Also if youre using it for gaming and need to use the heigh related keystone the keystone is disabled during gaming mode. Which is really weird. The Hd146x allowed for gaming mode and keystone. So basically if you cant have your projector close to center vertically and horizontally, any youre expecting to use keystone dont expect alot out of this. Its a height reletated keystone only, and it looks like a digital keystone which means it will crop the image, so youll lose imagine quality the more you keystone. If keystone is not a problem, and you can position your projector accordingly this bad boy is BRIGHT as heck! I would consider it one of the best values on the market for a bright 1080 HDR projector. If keystone isnt a issue I would not hesitate to get this thing, for budget home theater/gaming. IT IS BRIGHT!!! the brightest project ive ever owned, and should suit most peoples needs. Its even too bright at night with my screen. So the eco mode is more than bright enough for me. That means savings since the bulb will last longer. The bulb on my previous optoma projector lasted longer than the DLP chip 2+ years. So I expect its entirely possible this projectors bulb will last the estimated 4years. I would be happy with 3 though. Ive only had this projector for a few days, Ill update it if anything changes, but I really wanted to comment on the keystone situation for anyone considering this projector.

I bought it because of the 15,000 hour life span but I guess I should have bought another one. Its mainly hooked up to my Xbox One for gaming and movies which it does put out a nice crisp bright picture but has issues staying connected to the input and flickers every now and then. If Im on the main dashboard of the Xbox and switch from Youtube to Hulu or Prime video it goes to a blue screen and searches for signal/input. But the worst part is the lamp only lasted 459 hours and had to search for a replacement which NOBODY had not even the manufacturer which said it would be 2 months till they had any in stock.

When connected with xbox some games and apps don’t support hdr so I get blue screen interruptions which is extremely frustrating. And the hdmi cec doesn’t work properly so I cannot use the xbox to turn the projector on or off without using the remote. Noise and quality are great though. These issues are not from Xbox or projector settings both are enabled properly.

I had an older model optima projrctor that quit working after a lightning storm. It was HD but not 4K. The picture on the older model blows this one away. I love sports and with the previous model i could easily read jersey names and clearly see the finest details. I cant get this one to perform well enough to do the same. Both models were mounted in the same bracket at the same distance with a diagonal screen size of 110. I would happily take my older one back.
