> 24 hourThese headphones came in second in a review by a trusted site. Their backstory was so unique and their promise of a totally different experience so appealing to me, I decided to take the plunge. Wow! Am I glad I did. These headphones are very comfortable and so well made! The wood ear cups definitely add a smoother dimension to the sound. The bass is rich, yet, the highs are still very pronounced. I have had three sets of headphones and none of them came close to this quality. Frankly, this is a stunning edition to the headphones field and should seriously be considered by the shopper. I told my son they were “life-changing.” If you love music, you just might agree.

> 24 hourGreat set of headphones, havent quite got the fit right yet so I sometimes get a bit of ear strain. Nice and loud compared to my Void Elites that I was using previously. Have yet to use them with a proper DAC but going of how they sound now I think they will work great.

> 24 hourIts amazing. I honestly was thinking that headphones are headphones and these are just nicer build quality, but ohhh I was wrong. The 99 classics sound phenomenal. I was using a 75$ pair of Bluetooth ones before and I thought that they sounded good, but the 99s out pace my 75$ pair by miles. The only thing that I think could be added is active noise canceling, but is still really good at blocking noise out with the full over ear, Im not sayi3ng dont buy these. You shouldnt use these if your in really loud spaces, but any other place these are perfect. These are definitely the most functional headphones Ive ever used. Also very durable with the steel and little plastic.

> 24 hourawesome headphones I own quite a few pairs of headphones more expensive, and if I had to give them all up and keep one pair these would be the ones I keep.im currently running these off of my sabaj d5 dac I recently purchased.running through my Mac via usb and using the boom 3 eq. I am able to get the most out of these headphones.im thinking on buying the Neo headphones also after hearing these. I cant believe how efficient these are once I tuned the sound where I wanted it I couldnt believe sound separation voice clarity and soundstage.everyone should experience these headphones.the one thing I did immediately was upgrade to a balanced xlr cable, build & sound quality perfect well done.

> 24 hourI had only read/watched 2 reviews for the Meze and once I got past the audiophile descriptions of the sound which all sounded very acceptable, I was attracted to the simplicity and construction of these headphones. No Glue. Very little plastics. Every piece is replaceable and every part can be disassembled by hand. In my opinion, when looking at the details and holding it in your hands it feels great and looks stunning. How the headband easily slides to accommodate an easy and firm hold of your head. Its also large enough to provide room for large ears without looking cumbersome or awkward. The cable that comes with the headphones are great and it comes with two versions. One that is purely for headphone amps and one with an in-line microphone that could be used with a mobile device. I have been listening to these headphones on either at Schiit Stack (Schiit Modi 3 + Schiit Magni 3) or a Chord Mojo and theres enough detail in these headphones that I can clearly tell the difference between the DAC and Headphone amp. These headphones are competitive in sound quality with headphones that are 1.5-2x the price. As far as I am concerned if you are spending less than $500, these are a must-buy.

> 24 hourIf you look at reviews, people rarely have much bad to say about the Meze 99s. After having them for a few days, I can see why the comments are typically good. Heres my quick take. First, these are really nice looking phones. Fashion cans, as some call them. They seem of excellent build quality and finishing. I havent noticed any flaws out of the box. Uniform wood grain, generally well sorted. Im a sucker for natural wood, so that gets them off on a good foot. These arent very weighty or massive, in terms of full sized headphones. They feel sturdy, though, with everything depending from a spring steel headband. The auto-fit feature works well, making them a breeze to put on. Comfort is good, but not perfect. I find that my ears *just* touch the internal cavity wall of the phones sometimes, and this can build into slight discomfort. But very minor. The ear pads themselves are cushy, and theres a reasonably light clamping force. These wont be good for jogging around or doing parkour. The sound has a strong bass foundation, and goes deep enough to catch the pedal tones of a pipe organ with authority. Nuance is good, but not hyper-critical, as some headphones get. Overall, its a good mix of detail and forgiveness/fun. The 99s are not trying to be perfectly flat in response, but to instead give you a visceral and exciting presentation. Mission accomplished. Nothing is bloated, distorted, or exaggerated. No lack of mids or highs, but not fatiguing levels of either. These are VERY EFFICIENT. Powering them with a portable player or your phone wont be tough. On my Dragonfly Black amp, I am at loud on volume 3/100. Yeah. Concert volume at 5 or 7. Quiet at 1/100. So there you go. Sound isolation is pretty good. Youll notice nearby trench warfare, but the whir of a fan or the clothes dryer will largely fall away. Thus far, worth the money I paid, no question.

> 24 hourI purchased these headphones with some reservations about the size. I have been looking for a good set to travel with without compromising on sound quality. I did not end up keeping these headphones due to the size (although they are not any bigger than a lot of over ear sets on the market), but they were one of the hardest returns Ive had to make. The sound is exceptional, it really blew me away, and the build quality is solid. Nothing on these headphones looks or feels cheap. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a full size, over ear set.

> 24 hourGreat headphones! Build quality is great. I love the way the wood cups look. The headphones are comfortable and they didn’t get warm for me as others have stated online. I like the fact that they are very efficient and you don’t need a headphone amplifier. The sound is the best I have heard for the price. I auditioned Sony, McIntosh, Grado, hifiman and Bose. The mid and highs are stellar. Very clean and silky smooth. Spacious. The bass is a little heavy but not over bearing. That can be adjusted with your device. I use the Astell & Kern AK240 for my playback device and the headphones are very dynamic and a joy to just sit and lose yourself with a great album. In Greek Meze means appetizer and they for sure wet your pallet. I don’t have any reservations recommending these headphones.

> 24 hourI am an audiophile. I also own the Senneheiser Massdrop HD 6xx open back and the Senneheiser HD 569 closed back. I use a good separate headphone amp. These cans are at least on par with the Senns, but in a different way. I wouldnt say these are a better headphone than those pairs, but these are at least as equally as good in a different way. Tremendous bass and treble while maintaining an very good to excellent midrange. The Senns maybe have a better midrange, well, they probably do, but they dont showcase the low end and the high end like the 99 Classics. If you are into neutral headphones, try the 99 Classics for a welcomed change when you get tired of analytic neutrality.

> 24 hourThese are one of the best headphones I own. Very comfy. Beatufyul design. Excellent sound. And for the price for mid price range headphones REALLY REALLY worthy!!
