    Greater than one week

I got this monitor last year in December, and my initial impression. Was Wow. Coming from two Dell 1920 x 1080 60Hrz displays, this one is great from LG for the price of a 1440p 144hrz panel with NVIDIA G-Sync technology and HDR. But, it is not as bright as most panels since its 500 nits. I tried it with my PS5, but sadly it doesnt support 1440p resolution (yet.) So, for now, I use it for my PC setup at the moment. But, after seven months of use, a blue line became apparent (as seen in the picture) until Power On Time: 2848 hours as of writing this review. It wasnt as noticeable at first 3 three months ago, but now its getting to the point where I see it with all most anything with color, even in white. I dont know how to fix this, but until I do, its there. Overall, Im mostly pretty happy with this display.

Ill be frank. Im having a hard time understanding the rave reviews from others. I used this monitor to replace an old Dell monitor that was so old it didnt even have full HD. While this monitor is definitely better, it did not wow me like I expected it to based on reviews her on Amazon. Is the picture clearer? Sure. Are the colors more vibrant? Yeah, thats noticeably better. However, I stacked this up against a Dell S2719DGF which is $100 cheaper and has 165 Hz refresh. The Dell also had a great picture with good color, almost as good as this LG, even though its not an IPS panel. Plus, it felt like it was a more solidly built monitor (e.g. the joystick on the LG feels cheap - like its going to stop working at any time.) The audio, specifically the DAC, on this LG is worse than the Dell. However, both are not good enough for me to use; direct to on-board audio is much better. I just cant see the big hype of this LG for the extra $100. I returned the Dell, oddly enough, because Dell customer service was a mess. They told me they would provide very limited support, because this FreeSync compatible monitor was connected to an NVIDIA card. That was pretty much a mess-up on their part, but nonetheless, a bit too shaky for me to keep the monitor. BTW - I have 3 LG TVs, so I know what to expect by way of quality and customer service. Plus, I obviously had a Dell monitor for years, plus a few Dell laptops, so I know that company pretty well too. This LG and the Dell both play well. G-Sync with my GTX 1060 worked seamlessly (pun intended) on both, even though the Dell is not considered G-Sync compatible. Plus, refresh rate is good on both. Incidentally, LG missed an opportunity with the software you can download to control monitor settings within Windows. They should include the ability to switch monitor modes with a shortcut. This would all but remove the need for the joystick (for my purposes). In general, the software is pretty useless. Even the feature to switch modes based on the running application does not work properly. A shame really - a lot of potential there. So, in the end, Im keeping this LG because it is officially G-Sync compatible, although it still does not show on the official list at NVIDIA (the 27GL850 does). Plus, it does have a good picture and the refresh rate is decent. However, its not worth the extra $100, if you can get over the limited support from Dell.

This is a beautiful monitor. I had a 60Hz monitor that I had been using for many years and recently got a new video card and I just had to get a monitor that would take advantage of its features. G-sync works wonderfully with my RTX 3080 and the colors are nice and bright. With Windows HDR on it has a purple tint when looking at it from an angle but you cant see it at all when looking straight at it and its not present with Windows HDR turned off. Im still on the fence about whether Windows HDR is necessary. In most cases its better to leave it off but this isnt the fault of this monitor. There are many topics on the internet about how bad Windows HDR is but they have been improving it and a recent update did fix a lot of issues though its still not without. It does make videos look nice but has issues with some games. 1440P is a great resolution and offers a lot more screen real estate than what 1080P does and is great for games. Im not seeing any backlight bleed or dead pixels. There is no tearing or weird flashing in games and I can run every game I play on maximum settings and get great FPS with surprisingly very little to no FPS difference between 1080P and 1440P. I had reservations about getting this monitor because of some of the negative reviews but for the great price so far for me it has been an excellent upgrade. I have also found the OnScreen Control app to be very handy but make sure to turn off Windows Snap or it may cause conflicts. Im glad it doesnt have useless RGB lighting on the back that no one can see unless its night time and you turn off all of the lights in your room either. I have never understood why that feature is on some monitors. Pro tip: Turn off Automatic Standby if you use Windows Power and Sleep settings to control your monitors Sleep time. Of course if any issues come up I will update this review but for now I highly recommend this monitor.

This monitor absolutely does not play well with Windows 11. Deep Sleep Mode cannot be disabled and it takes several seconds to wake from sleep, Windows sometimes takes longer to respond. Worse is that when waking from deep sleep mode windows will randomly not maximize fully and a 1/2 of the desktop above the taskbar is cut off. This has something to do with windows scaling as changing the DPI back and forth resets to normal or turning the monitor off and on also resets it. However I believe this problem would not come up if there was an option to turn off deep sleep. And that there is no USB port means the monitor cannot be updated, not that LG would at this point, as they havent with the 850 model. Im not sure how these issues are not discussed in all of the glowing reviews on numerous tech sites as it is pretty well known that deep sleep in general is an issue with these monitors. And that has been fixed with the latest LG 4K model.

Old monitor sat to low on table ended up falling while using styrofoam blocks... and it had this on/off button you had to hold for 5 sec to turn it off. Ive got 2 other LG monitors this one included has the on/off button in the same place and you just push in - select power off - very nice and easy. This telescopic stem is just the answer for up/down and tilt... and dont forget that universal on/off button. Very happy with this good buy worth the money so far.

This monitor serves my purpose just as I need. 144hz IPS 1440p. However, the first thing I did after setting it up was running the online ghosting test. After less than 5 minutes, I was left with burn marks from the white dots for the pursuit camera (the white dots in the black bars between the UFOs). I contacted support, performed a hard reset, and everything was back to normal. Trust me when I say it passed the test, though. There is a small amount of blur, 2millimeters at its worst, but these are the limits of IPS panels (especially budget IPS panels). It is likely the ghosting test just doesnt play nice with certain monitors due to its nature, but for a burn in to occur within 5 minutes of using the monitor is alarming, to say the least. Therefore: TURN ON YOUR SLEEP MODE I will be keeping this monitor, should I have no more issues. I will update this review if there is any more burn in and if it is permanent or not, and how it was caused. Update: It has been almost a year, and this monitor still performs beautifully. No dead pixels, no increase in blur.

UPDATE: With calibration/tuning/adjustments these monitors are decent. I went through Windows color, brightness, and contrast settings a few times and monitor settings to get them usable. I generally use the P series Dell monitors. I replaced 2 Dell P2419H monitors (handing down to kids) which Ive purchased literally over 1000 of (P2417H, P2419H, P2422H) and are great monitors. Unfortunately the P2722H still has 1080P resolution and loses sharpness at 27. I have 2 P2722Hs on the floor and test one right beside the LG27GL83A-B and out of the box no adjustments the Dell monitor has better black and color levels. Side by side the Dell monitor was pixely since its 1080P rather than 1440P like the LG. My initial review out of the box was pure disappointment and I intended to return these. Adjustments changed my mind. Before adjustments the black levels were brownish grey off axis (while sitting and looking at the bottom left corner my background and Start menu/taskbar where brownish grey. If I moved directly in front of the area the black areas were black, no hint of grey or brown. The Dell monitors do not have this issue. Maybe its just the ones that were on sale?.. I dont know. Im keeping the boxes for the return period, jury is still out while I use them over the next 30-45 days. They are larger, sharper, and have higher refresh rate and that was my point.

Immerse yourself in your favorite games with this fast IPS monitor featuring a 1ms (GtG) response time, wide viewing angles, and high color accuracy with sRGB 99%. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly, while Black Stabilizer allows you to see them more clearly in the dark.
