Firstly, you cannot use anything above 60hz unless you disable: Freesync premium, HDR (usually) and power saving mode. Only after changing these settings can you use refresh rates like 120hz or 144hz. Second, the screen seemed very saturated at first, so I turned all 6 color saturations to 37, down from the default 50. Additionally, the power plug is huge and cumbersome to arrange other cords around. Currently, I’m using a Samsung monitor power cable instead, which oddly enough, fits the monitor perfectly. The smoothness of motion on this IPS monitor is amazing on rocket league and think that makes all the frustration worth it (probably).

Ordered 1 back in Nov 2022 and the IPS glow was horrendously bad and impossible to ignore when looking at a dark image or website (i.e. a dark themed site). There was a constant bright glow in the bottom left corner that took up about 25% of the display. Its as if the sun was glaring on your monitor, but the blinds are closed... and its night time... I ordered a replacement and that one had the same exact issue. Very likely it was a bad batch considering other people have not reported this and anyone with eyes would have noticed the IPS glow, but I personally wont buy an LG monitor for a while, at least not this line of monitors. I wish I had took some pictures to showcase it, but taking a picture of a monitors display also isnt an accurate measure of how good does this monitor look However, when I was playing games in bright scenes, the display looked great and had a high, smooth refresh rate. I would still recommend it, but if you have this issue, consider talking with Amazon or LG support to see if you can get a replacement from a different batch (or something along these lines) because the IPS glow was not acceptable quality control. Because of this, I wont give a number rating for the picture or brightness quality, but will rate the gaming experience as 4/5.

I own other LG products...tv, fridge, etc. My first LG gaming monitor. For the price and so far for the reliability you cant go wrong. Playing COD it does what its supposed to do.

Pros: -144hz -Minimal backlight bleed -OSD easy to use -Comes with display port cable and HDMI cable -extremely easy to setup -stock calibration is decent, only had to modify a few settings. Cons: The stand sits too high at lowest adjustment, so I had to modify my desk to clear. Highest point is roughly 18 3/4 to clear. My calibration on Game 1 Preset: Brightness - 25 Contrast - 70 Sharpness - Default 50 Gamma - mode 2 Color temp - Custom - R58/G49/B48 Adaptive sync - On Black Stabilizer - Default 50 Response time - Fast Aspect ratio - Full Wide Energy Saving - Off Standby - Off All settings at aspect ratio and below optional, I opted to turn the energy stuff off. I Absolutely love this monitor. I first was gonna get the 850 but its been running low on stock for a while now, settled with this variant instead. Just setup today and played a bit of Rainbow six at 144hz and it was perfect. This is the sRGB version of the 27GL850, it also registers on my computer as the 27GL850. If youre stressed for cash and wanna save a bit of money, this one will do fine. Colors look great without the wide range color gamut, and from reading it should mainly be applicable to HDR gaming/photo editing anyways, which the 850 doesnt do a great job at as is. I dont plan on using HDR either. All in all this thing came perfect with no bad pixels, and the backlight looks good. This monitor should have a slightly higher contrast ratio than the 850 (1000:1 while the 850 is around 800:1). I highly recommend this as a viable cheaper option to the 850. If purchasing this with limited vertical space look for a gas shock vesa mount to lower it further or modify your desk for 18 3/4 of vertical clearance. The only difference according to specs is the nano ips panel on the 850, which seems like it has more to do with the color range.

This is a very impressive monitor in terms of color, IPS panel, response times. 2k is a good resolution. Even if games start running better at 4k someday, you could downsample and get a nice picture. For the times though, 2K is a good sweet spot for high fps, for sure. The 27 inch size is great, but be aware the stand underneath is long and wide so it takes a lot of desk space. With two monitors it can be hard to get even a second smaller one in there comfortably on a smaller desk, for sure. Still I eventually managed to squeeze in a layout. Overall I consider this an awesome monitor, considerably more reliable than the $200 range VA panel one I had that accidentally broke, and this replaced it. That old monitor had flickering issues with freesync, this one works great out of the box, and has less color banding. I also like the HDR effect mode on pc gaming. I didnt try it right away thinking it would be a weak gimmick, but it actually looks pretty good. Mind you compared to a TV that supports HDR well, this is not the same thing, just a nice way to boost your image quality. HDR effect also doesnt offer much settings control as they become locked for many things, but response time, color, and image look great in it. The biggest real con with it is the price. It is a lot in my opinion. However, if you are extremely careful not to drop it or hit the screen with anything then I suspect it could last a really long time, like most monitors. So considering the features are great, I think a lot of people that use PC all the time can justify getting this. One other small con with it is the Onscreen Control app (download it from their website) that lets you set things up instead of using the monitors joystick is very barebones. I was disappointed the super handy on screen countdown timer feature and hot keys to change settings features from the budget $200 monitor arent here. On the other hand this monitor is much easier to get stunning visuals out of the box than a cheap budget panel and you hardly need to go into settings, but the lack of bells and whistles in settings other than the major important features was something I noted. Overall, Im highly pleased with this monitor so far. Might revisit this review over time if its standing up well over time or is not.

This is a beautiful monitor. I had a 60Hz monitor that I had been using for many years and recently got a new video card and I just had to get a monitor that would take advantage of its features. G-sync works wonderfully with my RTX 3080 and the colors are nice and bright. With Windows HDR on it has a purple tint when looking at it from an angle but you cant see it at all when looking straight at it and its not present with Windows HDR turned off. Im still on the fence about whether Windows HDR is necessary. In most cases its better to leave it off but this isnt the fault of this monitor. There are many topics on the internet about how bad Windows HDR is but they have been improving it and a recent update did fix a lot of issues though its still not without. It does make videos look nice but has issues with some games. 1440P is a great resolution and offers a lot more screen real estate than what 1080P does and is great for games. Im not seeing any backlight bleed or dead pixels. There is no tearing or weird flashing in games and I can run every game I play on maximum settings and get great FPS with surprisingly very little to no FPS difference between 1080P and 1440P. I had reservations about getting this monitor because of some of the negative reviews but for the great price so far for me it has been an excellent upgrade. I have also found the OnScreen Control app to be very handy but make sure to turn off Windows Snap or it may cause conflicts. Im glad it doesnt have useless RGB lighting on the back that no one can see unless its night time and you turn off all of the lights in your room either. I have never understood why that feature is on some monitors. Pro tip: Turn off Automatic Standby if you use Windows Power and Sleep settings to control your monitors Sleep time. Of course if any issues come up I will update this review but for now I highly recommend this monitor.

This product functions very well and I am highly satisfied with the purchase, although my only problem is that with the way the border around the monitor is, it would make you think that the border is the small black strip around the edges, but there is actually black gap between the edges and the actual screen, but a good purchase anyways.
