Once calibrated delivers an outstanding color range. Big change from 1080 TN. Suffers from some backlight bleed in the bottom left but not distracting. No swivel. I do wish the monitor could drop a little lower. Contrast isnt the best but this is to be expected with an ips panel. Not a big difference between the rest of the options at this price point. My only gripe with the monitor isnt specific to this one but most LG monitors; deep sleep. Unless you set in windows for your monitors to never sleep, the LG will go into a deep sleep feature and appear disconnected, consequently switching your main monitor and moving your desktop icons. If you have multiple monitors be sure to turn off the LG last when youre done and turn it on first when you begin again. Otherwise, love this monitor. No dealbreakers here and not upgrading for a long time

With Windows new auto-HDR settings, and even turning on HDR permanently, get the most out of the monitor, getting great brightness and incredible contrast for a monitor that is not an OLED. Getting HDR to work properly on this monitor can be a bit tricky sometimes, which is why I see a lot of reviews that complain about them HDR or low nits/unusual colors on the monitor. Your monitor will say that HDR is enabled but the source will be confused as to whether to enable HDR or not, and youre stuck in this state where you believe the HDR is just bad. But if you have HDR set up properly, you will not be complaining about the low brightness or weird colorization on this monitor. Maybe something else, but definitely when you get the monitor, double check HDR settings, etc - on both the monitor and source. And when it comes to the price, this is probably the best monitor you can get for the money. It is important to note that this is G-Sync compatible, and does not actually have the G-Sync module in the monitor itself. I havent noticed any cons in terms of maintaining good 144hz gaming thus far with V-Sync, which is about the peak youd get at WHD without setting the graphics down, and you dont have the G Sync module in the monitor constantly sapping power even when its off.

was misleading as it shows a 144hz when in fact its only 100hz

I own other LG products...tv, fridge, etc. My first LG gaming monitor. For the price and so far for the reliability you cant go wrong. Playing COD it does what its supposed to do.

Ordered 1 back in Nov 2022 and the IPS glow was horrendously bad and impossible to ignore when looking at a dark image or website (i.e. a dark themed site). There was a constant bright glow in the bottom left corner that took up about 25% of the display. Its as if the sun was glaring on your monitor, but the blinds are closed... and its night time... I ordered a replacement and that one had the same exact issue. Very likely it was a bad batch considering other people have not reported this and anyone with eyes would have noticed the IPS glow, but I personally wont buy an LG monitor for a while, at least not this line of monitors. I wish I had took some pictures to showcase it, but taking a picture of a monitors display also isnt an accurate measure of how good does this monitor look However, when I was playing games in bright scenes, the display looked great and had a high, smooth refresh rate. I would still recommend it, but if you have this issue, consider talking with Amazon or LG support to see if you can get a replacement from a different batch (or something along these lines) because the IPS glow was not acceptable quality control. Because of this, I wont give a number rating for the picture or brightness quality, but will rate the gaming experience as 4/5.

UPDATE: With calibration/tuning/adjustments these monitors are decent. I went through Windows color, brightness, and contrast settings a few times and monitor settings to get them usable. I generally use the P series Dell monitors. I replaced 2 Dell P2419H monitors (handing down to kids) which Ive purchased literally over 1000 of (P2417H, P2419H, P2422H) and are great monitors. Unfortunately the P2722H still has 1080P resolution and loses sharpness at 27. I have 2 P2722Hs on the floor and test one right beside the LG27GL83A-B and out of the box no adjustments the Dell monitor has better black and color levels. Side by side the Dell monitor was pixely since its 1080P rather than 1440P like the LG. My initial review out of the box was pure disappointment and I intended to return these. Adjustments changed my mind. Before adjustments the black levels were brownish grey off axis (while sitting and looking at the bottom left corner my background and Start menu/taskbar where brownish grey. If I moved directly in front of the area the black areas were black, no hint of grey or brown. The Dell monitors do not have this issue. Maybe its just the ones that were on sale?.. I dont know. Im keeping the boxes for the return period, jury is still out while I use them over the next 30-45 days. They are larger, sharper, and have higher refresh rate and that was my point.

I only purchase LG now. Other monitors always flicker for some reason? Maybe my electricity isn’t the best but that never impacts LG products so who knows. 10/10 always recommend!
