Bought the display for an excellent price on Prime Day. Loved it for some things and couldnt stand it for others. Of the issues, at least one was an attribute of the kind of panel being used in the monitor and would not have been resolved by swapping for a replacement, so I ended up returning it. Part of me still regrets returning it, but I know that unless I was able to get a panel that didnt have any of my 3 issues, itd drive me crazy and Id be dissatisfied with my purchase. Pros: 144Hz, FreeSync, and LFC were amazing in games. Id never used a high refresh rate display before and it was absolutely buttery smooth the way Id heard - even for just basic computer usage. The display came color calibrated for sRGB with a calibration report in the box, so colors were very accurate out of the box. The display was easy to assemble and the stand is certainly a step up from what you get on cheap monitors. A bit of a small-time feature that most probably wont use or care about -- the headphone jack on the back of the panel is fed by HDMI or DisplayPort. This is GREAT! Most other displays Ive used in the past use a passthrough port where you plug in a 1/8 cable from your computer to the display. Paired with low quality amplifiers, these have always led to low quality sound with a lot of background hiss - which drives me crazy. While not amazing quality, Id say that the headphone jack was perfectly usable. Cons: I ended up returning the monitor. I had 3 minor to moderate issues with the panel. If the monitor I received had only 1 of the issues, I probably would have kept it and lived with it, but having all 3 was driving me crazy most of the time. 1. Blurry text Immediately after setting up the display and setting it next to my older HP Omen 32 (32, 1440p, 75Hz, VA) I noticed that text looked blurry. Almost like there was a smudge on my glasses. Yes, the panel was running at the native resolution. Since both panels are 32 and 1440p, it wasnt a pixel-pitch issue. It also wasnt the anti-reflective coating -- I have a Dell U2412M which has a rather heavy AR coating and that monitor was still sharper looking. I found and tried increasing the Sharpness setting, but the text remained blurry -- just with oversharpening/ringing artifacts around all the text. Gaming or watching video was fine, but I read a lot of code on my machine and having blurry text wasnt going to work out for me. Based on reading some other reviews of this and the similar 850F, it seems to be an attribute of the kind of VA panel theyre using and not a manufacturing defect. I tried getting side by side pictures, but when trying to take macro shots of a monitor with a camera, you just start seeing the pixel structure and I really couldnt tell from the pictures which monitor was blurry and which was sharp. 2. Banding The top ~1 of the panel had horizontal banding. Slightly darker lines across the whole top of the display. This was very noticeable with solid-color menu-bars in applications made them look like they were striped when they werent. It was also still visible in photos and in games, though not as noticeable. Not that I expected the issue to go away, but I tried different cables and tried connecting the display to a different computer, but the banding remained. I would imagine that this issue was a manufacturing defect. 3. HDCP issues ~1 in 4 times Id open Netflix or any other application that utilized HDCP the display would go black, then the panel would flicker on and off over and over for 30-45 seconds before finally figuring life out and bringing the picture back. Im not sure if theres a design issue or if this was a 1-off defect with this particular display -- but Id really hope that the HDCP handshake process was something that theyd have nailed down by 2019. This issues could have had something to do with not playing nice with an Nvidia 1080Ti + FreeSync/G-Sync Compatible. I did not test this with another machine or video card, but frankly this was not a determining factor in returning the display, just *another* nuisance on top of the other 2 issues.

I actually bought this to replace a first gen 4K monitor (Acer XB280HK) I wanted a faster refresh rate and a larger screen to pair with an new AMD build. This is perfect. I get the a bigger screen from the old 27 inch with the same footprint thanks to the smaller bezels. And the build quality is solid. Using FreeSync I get no screen tears and the 144hz refresh rate is noticeable and unbelievably smooth. Going from a TN panel to VA is also nice as the blacks and colors just pop. With little to no LED edge bleed. If you can get this for 300 bucks, I say run dont walk to buy. Although, I would have paid full retail and been happy...sort of.

    Greater than one week

I didnt know i need this size until i got it. It is freaking massive compared to my old 22 monitor. Loved it right off the bat. The colors are nice after some adjustments. Great value for the price. The speaker is basically non existent and that is the only reason I am giving this monitor a 4 star review.

Amazing value. Ive bought 4 of these. I recommend downloading the Control App from the LG site to adjust your displays. 3 out of the 4 were perfectly matched out of the box, but one was a little out of spec. It was a tad green. The LG Control app fixed that issue for me. It allows you to access the RED, GREEN and BLUE tones of the display. Also allows you to control the sharpness of the display. Basically it gives you more control over the display. I cant recommend this product enough.

Incredible monitors! 144 refresh rate makes for an supreme gaming experience. Have had these for over a year now and have been incredibly impressed with how the crispness and visual quality has improved all sorts of videogames not to mention how much an improvement these are from using standard tv screens or other monitors. They are worth every dollar...so much so that I bought another! Excited to enjoy these for many years to come.

Bought two of these. This monitor is very big. It’s the perfect size. The picture quality in my opinion is beautiful, but only after tweaking the graphics settings. My nephew uses his for Fortnite and he said his input lag and response time is zero. I use mine to play KF2 and I have zero issues with input lag. It has VESA wall mounting ready so that was a plus. I did not wall mount the two I bought. The stand can easily go very low or high, so that is cool and the monitor tilts well too. However, and this is a big however, I did not know these monitors do not have SPEAKERS until I tested them out. It was a huge disappointment. But I kept them both despite that. I bought 3.5mm aux audio cables and connected my surround system to it and the audio works fine.

Product came looking undamaged from the box. Once we connected it the colors seemed off and not brilliant and clear. It had like a haze that we kept trying to tune it for better sharpness and color. Always seemed weak, but not a valid reason we thought to return it,since that was subjective. We thought it had failed. Colors were weak and faded out. No crispness a tall, even with adjustments. Terrible for gaming. We were going to send it back, but didnt.LG was ready to let us to be fair ,but, we use it outdoors at night now instead. Its good enough for that. I love LG products and wont diss the whole company over one weak egg. We replaced the computer monitor with an upgraded model primarily for high end gaming. All in all I would not buy this for gaming.

I have owned and used this monitor for 3 months. I figure that’s enough time to break it in and write a review. I must say I’m very pleased. It arrived with absolutely no defects. Setup was quick and simple. Connected it to my gaming PC using the provided display port cable. My PC auto adjust and the display was set to 144Hz. I’ve had no issues. It took a bit of tinkering to get the settings on the monitor itself to my liking, but it’s all personal preference at that point. PS5 connectivity: This monitor blows me away with displaying a PS5 image. Upon connecting it with the included HDMI cable that came with the PS5 I tab to the system settings only to realize that the resolution automatically selected is 4K (3840x2160). The monitor itself downscales the 4K image to its native 1440p resolution without any sort of trickery done by the user. The image quality is amazing, colorful and super smooth for the PS5. Apparently some monitors on the monitor are capable of this for the PS5, but not all. 1440p is what a lot of Sony users want, so I was thrilled this monitor makes it happen. 100% Thrilled with all avenues of this display. For $300 you can not go wrong!

I dont know if the speakers only work with HDMI, but they havent worked from day 1. Ive tried every setting I can find, but no luck. If it doesnt work with display port, they should mention it because the loss of resolution and refresh on HDMI isnt worth it. I dont think Im getting the refresh rate I was hoping for, but otherwise a good monitor.
