So far I am loving this monitor, for the price this is an excellent display. The 27inch size is perfect for me. Plenty of screen real estate to get work done, the 4K resolution helps as well. Especially when you scale the resolution for more space. The colors in my opinion are very accurate, I can definitely notice some differences from my P3 calibrated MacBook Pro but it very close. I do some minor photo editing and the experience has been great so far. The matte display is also very nice. I’ve used previous monitors with matte displays and this one is noticeably high quality. You don’t see that typical grainy texture that often comes with matte displays. USB-C connectivity is extremely useful, it’s very nice to use one cable for display and power. I have experienced a few times where I noticed the MacBook was not charging but it only happens occasionally. My only complaint is the stand is a little cheap feeling, I wish the whole thing was metal and a little my sturdy. The HDR performance is pretty terrible, I don’t recommend it. When you enable HDR it looks noticeably worse. But the standard display settings out of the box are adequate for most. I would say this monitor is excellent and I would highly recommend it if your looking for a midrange 4K monitor.

    Greater than one week

Ive had this monitor maybe two months and am experiencing some issues already. I did a lot of research before choosing this one as I really wanted good screen real estate for my Macbook Pro; excellent picture quality; a monitor that would support charging my laptop while connected. Heres how that worked out: 1. Picture quality is good, a bit bright but good. 2. The charging only works on occasion. Sometimes the monitor charges the laptop, sometimes it doesnt. This is really frustrating to me as my office is tiny and I dont want additional cables. It also connects, for the most part, but I will get the occasional black screen that doesnt detect the laptop. I have to then open the laptop and make sure the monitor realizes its on and close it again. Its annoying at best. 3. I cant control the sound from my laptop. This is wildly annoying. Not sure if Ill return this or if theres better out there, but for the price I paid I would expect it to work a lot more consistently.

EDIT: There is On-Screen control for Mac users on newer models its just that LG kind of dropped the ball on making it easy for Mac users to find and install it. On LG.com go to Support, then Software & Drivers. Don’t use the search field they provide because for many model numbers it will say there is no matching product. Scroll down, click on monitors and search for your model manually. If your model doesn’t have a Mac download try the next closest monitor to your model. Also, worth pointing out is that 27UN850-W is the newest model and 27UL850-W is the previous model. They are both practically the same with very minor spec differences but the newest one is currently cheaper by almost $100. ---------- Heads up, their advertised On-Screen Control including Screen Split is not available to MacBook users with this monitor. In fact basically only ONE model is supported! And apparently according to other user reviews that one doesnt even have the basic functionality advertised. So just keep that in mind when purchasing an LG monitor if you are a Mac user. With that said, if that is not a deal breaker for you this is still an excellent monitor.

Bought following a bunch of online research in which I compared 15 different monitors. Ive been very happy with this monitor in the 2 weeks Ive had it. Works great with my 2020 M1 MacBook Air using the USB-C cable thats included with the monitor. (Finding a monitor compatible with that computer was a key deciding factor for me.) The picture quality is plenty crisp and a good deal for the $480 price I paid. Ive used the ~$1200 5K LG monitor that Apple recommends, but it has ghosting issues (traces of high-brightness content take a while to decay after windows are moved around) that made me question whether the 5K was worth the price. This 4K monitor feels like a solid value in a good price/performance niche and Im glad I chose it. I mainly use it for coding and day-to-day web/email/etc. with a bit of graphics work and its done well for me in all those categories.

This is by far my favorite monitor for my Macbook Air M1 2020. I love the colors right out of the box. I actually enjoy looking at this monitor more than looking at the screen on my Mac. The letters are so sharp and the colors vibrant. For the price, you are getting a high-quality monitor that makes the perfect friend for your Mac. I use Illustrator and Photoshop a lot and this monitor makes me stay focused on designing and be more creative. I highly recommend it.

Works really good using USB-C direct from MacBook Air. Screen quality looks almost as good as my iMac Retina 5K. The size of macOS menu items at top and and dock icons on bottom and screen work-area area -- all were as expected and as appear on my iMAC. On HP monitor I bought first and am not returning all these were totally distorted. I read this monitor works well with MACs and it sure does. Monitor controls work via little joystick which is really slick. Screen hight and tilt operate very nicely also. Good quality USB-C cable included. Super beefy AC adaptor also which I guess is good? Excellent for MACs!

We have an office full of LG 32UN880-B monitors, which were out of stock, so we ordered this one for about the same price. Side by side, this monitor has terrible viewing angles and is far more washed out than our other LG displays. Very disappointed in the quality of this monitor vs other LG HDR monitors.

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
