Works really good using USB-C direct from MacBook Air. Screen quality looks almost as good as my iMac Retina 5K. The size of macOS menu items at top and and dock icons on bottom and screen work-area area -- all were as expected and as appear on my iMAC. On HP monitor I bought first and am not returning all these were totally distorted. I read this monitor works well with MACs and it sure does. Monitor controls work via little joystick which is really slick. Screen hight and tilt operate very nicely also. Good quality USB-C cable included. Super beefy AC adaptor also which I guess is good? Excellent for MACs!

I really struggled with the decision for what monitor to buy for my new Apple MacStudio computer, and was seriously considering spending another $2k on the Apple Studio display, but after reading ALOT of reviews I settled on this LG ultra fine 27 inch display and saved myself about $1500! It is a great display, plenty of brightness and clarity of color. From now on I’ll stick to Apple for my computers but there is no need to spend the extra money on their displays when these lower priced options are just as good!

I purchased this after returning the Samsung M80B as it gave me a headache. This thing had perfect color (for my needs at least) out of the box. Pros: Easy to set up Tons of connections options Stand has the perfect tension for going up and down Picture looks great even if the blacks cannot get as dark as a VA panel Very easy on the eyes Cons: I dont like the control button placement on the bottom. I have a controller that I have to move every time I need to get to it Contrast is not quite as rich as the Samsung VA panel I returned Not a native resolution to my Mac Studio although I dont have the wallet for the 5k version

UPDATE: April 25, 2021: Running into problems with USB-C cables longer than the supplied LG 12 cable, I decided to try Apples cables, since Apple is well-know for making high quality products. First I tried Apples (thin) 1 meter cheaper USB-C Charge Cable. That cable did not work. Next I tried Apples (thick) 0.8 meter more expensive Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Cable. That one works fine. I noticed with all the USB-C cables I have tried, the thickness of the cables that work are much thicker than the cables that did not work. Another benefit I was not expecting is that with the good-working thick Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) cable, all of a sudden my Apple Watch began unlocking my Mac properly. Go figure that one out!! ============================================ This is a wonderful monitor. HOWEVER, if you want to use a USB-C to USB-C cable that is longer than the supplied 12 LG cable, you might not be able to do that: While the supplied 12 LG USB-C cable works fine with my Mac mini M1, I need a longer cable. I tried one of my 3 USB-C cables and it does not work. The Q&A here also shows at least 2 other buyers having the same problem. Thinking it might be a poor quality cable I ordered 2 x 3 Anker USB-C cables: they also did not work. I then tried another of my 3 USB=C cables and it worked. Unfortunately I do not know what brand it is, or where it came from. I just got off the phone with LG support. They could not provide me with a solution for obtaining a USB-C cable that is longer than their supplied 12 USB-C cable. (I am not interested in using an HDMI cable.) LG support repeated told me that any other 3 USB-C cable should work. But clearly not all of them do. I was surprised that even the Anker USB-C 3 cables did not work. LG support also repeated tried to tell me that a *12* monitor cable is the standard length. That, of course, is ridiculous. Its a shame I had to deduct 1 star due to this problem. YMMV Otherwise, again, this is a wonderful monitor.

Screen quality is great but read below: After months of having this monitor and too late to return it. I was looking for split screen or PIP with different sources connected to the monitor inputs and found out it does not exist. to my horror. I never imagined a $750 monitor would have this feature missing. My crappy $200 Samsung has this feature in the menu settings and so does my other LG.

I just moved from a retina iMac to a Mac Studio and was looking for a monitor that was as good as the retina in the iMac. First off, nothing is as good as the retina iMac screen except the new $1,500 Apple monitor. But, this LG gets you 99% of the way there. It takes a little fiddling to get the resolution right but after working with it a couple of weeks, I cant tell the difference between this monitor and the iMac when writing code - working with text. No idea about games or professional graphics. As far as casual watching YouTube and web browsing its every bit as good as the retina iMacs. I liked it so much, I got a 2nd one to connect to the Mac Studio replacing an older 27 Apple Thunderbolt display. The monitor works great out of the box with the included USB-C cable. I now have 2 connected via the USB-C cables and they are great. Probably the only downside is the built in speaker. Its no where near what the iMacs speakers sound like. To solve that one, I found a Nylavee sound bar and it fits snugly under the monitor. One other issue I have not solved yet and it could be self inflicted is the computer sometimes will not go to sleep from the sleep menu the first try. Another issue is open apps dont always stay on the 2nd monitor when the computer wakes up. This is a known problem when using non Apple displays so it might have to be something to live with until Apple has time to stop making new emojis and fix a few bugs in their software. Now Im back to what I had with the iMac, except now I have 10 cores and blazing speed.

I bought this model LG because this is the model that I read that was used in a lot of Apple iMac models. I wanted a display that had excellent color accuracy since I do photo and video editing. The first one I bought was FANTASTIC! I could see that the colors, contrast, etc. were SPOT ON when comparing to my iMac 27. I give my first monitor 5 stars in all categories! I purchased a second monitor of the same model. I wish I could say the same. The second was HORRIBLE! I made sure the settings were the same on the new monitor as the first one and the picture quality was terrible. I promptly sent the monitor back. Im worried about buying another one and it being just as bad as the second one.

I choose this monitor because it was 4k and it had a usb-c connection. Well after using it for a long time I dont recommend it. I would prefer to use a 2k monitor instead. I have two problems with it. Even dough it is an IPS panel if the image stays too long it burns the screen(I thought this wasnt an issue with this panel). Secondly, I thought that 60fps would be a cake to move but it is not. The screen has problems moving the resolution smoothly. I had the option of buying a 2k screen with 165fps and I would take that if I knew how this one works. Also, I cant use the usb-c as a display port/hdmi with my computer so it is an extra that I cant use but that is my computers fault.

This is likely the best monitor that Ive owned. Color, brightness and image definition are excellent. The speakers are oriented away from the user. That is less than ideal. Ful disclosure, I seldom have audio on when operating my desktop. My main gripe is the on/off button. It has dual functionality in that it is also used to access various monitor controls. Not infrequently when I try to power the monitor off, it instead brings up a control menu. A bit annoying. Id prefer two buttons.

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
